Do Tulane ED1 results come out today? |
yes |
Has anyone heard yet? If so please share stats. |
Don’t know any stats but Dc at school late and heard of 3 admits |
Isn’t almost everyone who applies ED admitted and everyone who applies RD denied? |
Not this year. New director of admissions. A lot to deferrals. |
I heard of 2 admits from a MC private. |
If kids are already hearing of 2-3 kids in a single school admitted ED, how many deferrals can there be? If there were “a lot” of deferrals, what was the admit rate vs for deferral rate for ED this year? |
Exactly what I was thinking. DC said at least 5-6 from our public in and several others she knows. None are top students. Definitely not “Ivy league of the South” |
Good student from my kids' school rejected ED from Tulane (not deferred) |
My kids reported four from their MCPS “W” school admitted. The one I know personally is an excellent student with stellar ECs. |
Would love to know stats for a DC metro area kid who ED'd and was either deferred or rejected (including whether attending public or private high school). |
My kid also reported 4 from their "W" MCPS high school admitted (wonder if it is the same high school?). They know 2 of the kids well and neither had "stand out stats" (these are good and nice kids, of course!) but none above low 1450 SAT, not many APs and those they did take were "easier" APs, no calculus period, no significant ECs (not ECs like band or a sport or Deca, more like of the variety of a club that meets semi-regularly). I am very happy for these kids! But some of the kids described as deferred from Clemson in the other thread seemed to have stronger stats. Makes me scratch my head at the whole process. |
um 1450 SAT indicates significant degree of intelligence so just stop with your stand out stats bs. |
+1 Can you imagine what people like PP think of kids who scored 1000? They don't want them attending their children's schools. |
