OMG for decades politicians have kicked the problem down the road. Reagan put in place a stop gap measure everyone knew was a short term fix if you can even call it that. The problem is symptomatic of how dysfunctional politicians are.

Now non-border states can understand the problem. Unfounded mandates to track and deport folks isn’t fair, but it’s also not fair to have to fund more folks than we can employ, fees and shelter. Something need to give and allow USCIS to catch up. Waiting in limbo for 5 years or more for papers is ridiculous.

The asylum laws are not what created this crisis. If that were the case, we would have seen numbers in the millions with Obama and Trump. But, we didn't see that.
It has been Biden's rhetoric, his lack of enforcement, his unwillingness to leave in place policies that were working, and his desire to have migrants surge the border.

What lack of enforcement? Asylum seekers turn themselves in the second the cross the border and then stay for years waiting for a hearing. The same thing happened under Obama and Trump. If you want to change the system, talk to Congress because the president can make law.

No. it. didn't. With Biden, we have seen nearly 7 million encounters. 7 million. Demonstrably more than any president IN OUR HISTORY.
He did away with every. single. measure. Trump had in place. THAT lack of enforcement.
Add to that the fact that this administration has told CBP and ICE that simply being in the country illegally is not grounds for deportation.
This goes directly against our immigration laws.

The illegal migrants seen assaulting officers in this video have been released without bail. It’s more than likely all charges will be dismissed.

In a sane world if an illegal migrant committed assault on a police officer their deportation would be immediate.

Particularly ones who are living entirely at the expense of taxpayers.

But it’s clear we no longer function as a civilized city. There are essentially zero consequences for all manner of crime, and the criminals know it — even the ones who just got here.

Yes, Democrats are being stupid but Republicans have been equally stupid, for obstructing any attempt to solve it, like adding judges to speed up deportations, like funding facilities to put them rather than being forced to release them and so on. All Republicans want to do is point fingers, they have zero genuine interest in solving the problem. Their entire strategy is to allow the problems to persist and worsen, and then try and use it as ammunition against the left. It's the absolute worst kind of cynical bullshit.
