And all intelligent adult Floridians knew it and took appropriate action to leave. Do your friends and family members need to specifically be told to leave when 140+ winds are heading to the coast?

Considering that Hurricane Katrina caused over 1800 fatalities, and Hurricane Sandy killed 233 people........ One life lost is tragic, but when you compare the death count to other hurricane disasters, this doesn't even make the list for one of the deadliest hurricanes.
And, as for DeSantis' leadership..... most Floridians are happy.

Considering that Hurricane Katrina caused over 1800 fatalities, and Hurricane Sandy killed 233 people........ One life lost is tragic, but when you compare the death count to other hurricane disasters, this doesn't even make the list for one of the deadliest hurricanes.
And, as for DeSantis' leadership..... most Floridians are happy.
Give it a little time maybe a one or two weeks. Sound bits and cheap political tricks will not replace governing. Too much boiling just under the surface. Insurance companies are already telling people to F off. It’s going to be very ugly.

DeSantis still hasn’t really done anything significant. He’s just posing until the national and state media move on and leave the recovery as a local issue, as happened with Hurricane Michael.

It really is. I know that photos only catch a split second, but this split second is funny and really displays what elected Republicans are.
This underscores why I don’t think DeSantis is such a shoo-in for the GOP nomination once Trump is out of the picture as a lot of people do. He has zero charisma and his personality is off putting.
I loathe DeSantis, but there is no evidence showing he's doing a bad job on hurricane Ian recovery. It's way too soon to start criticizing him.

And I agree that his personality is a little off-putting compared to the Trumpian personality the right-wingers are used to... but he still has the best shot for the Republican candidacy. Trump is done.
