Hurricane Ian's effect on Florida voting

Anonymous
The destruction based on the Hurricane Ian is devastating. So, many homes and infrastructure destroyed. We are little over month away from midterm. Based on the destruction, people would be displaced and voting areas would be closed etc.

How would this affect the election. Is there a precedence? Can these folks who have lost a lot vote. Has Desantis and his AG have a plan to protect voting rights of the disaster affected folks? Are they going to play games to depress Democrat voting area not being supported where as republicans voting area being given alternatives?

I’m sure DeSantis cooking up something annoyingly brilliant yet despicable while he holds out his hand to Biden for some money.

This needs to be the wake up call to people who have so irresponsibly voted GOP. STOP DOING THIS SHIT!

Um, OP? Plenty of people of ALL political persuasions have had their homes destroyed. You really need to take off your tinfoil hat.

Generally people vote for the incumbent and their party after a disaster. They want stability, and it's the easiest thing in the world to have a few photo ops, say heartfelt words of sympathy, thank first responders and appear to take charge during reconstruction.

We don't forget that DeSantis voted AGAINST sending federal funds up north for Sandy. But Floridians don't care. They want DeSantis on TV making speeches about how many survivors are pulled out of the wreckage by heroic rescuers.

Well people who are homeless from the storm will not be able to vote and no mail in voting. Everyone will have to go to there regular voting place. Lol

What is my tinfoil hat? Yes, I know that people of ALL political persuasions have lost their homes. However based on how Desantis has acted so far, I am not confident that he would not use this disaster to depress Democrats votes.

I will ignore the LOL and repeat the question.

Is there a precedence of this type of timing. Considering GOP has railed against mail-in voting and FL probably has burdensome voting rules, how would this play out? I do not trust Desantis and FL republicans that they would do the right things.

Let's see... I've just lost my entire house, cars, personal property... perhaps my job... perhaps I have a family member who was injured in the storm. But by golly, the first thing I'm thinking about is my voting rights for an election 6 weeks away.

OP, frankly I find your post really offensive. This is not about you and your desire to cling to the D's handful-seats majority in the House.

Really, this is rich coming from a party that uses Human being as political pawn that some of them have endured excruciating hardship to seek asylum in USA or try to punish women who have lost their pregnancy to miscarriage?

This is a political forum and yes politics is the discussion. If you are so touchy get of this forum. BTW, sanctimonious fools like you did not see any issue when Puerto Ricans were in similar disaster and your party was putting all its effort to not help them and come to lecture here when it is FL's turn.

I did not suggest that Biden or Democrats should play politics, but I have no trust that Desantis, Rubio, Scott would not. Does Desantis have a plan to fix this in 6 weeks? Let me see his plan, if you are familiar!

Great, you did beat me in grammar

Now, can we come to the important questions.

Should Ron DeSantis be forced to publicly apologize to the victims of Hurricane Sandy as a condition of receiving federal relief for Florida?

I say “YES.”
