Who plays and Outdoor winter league for $400? The St James winter league is "extra $$" or no? The Maryland winter league is indoors as well.

Yes, The St James winter league is extra, but indoors.

My daughter plays for Pride but the majority of her training comes from other sources. Pride is just the tip of the iceberg. It begs the question, what are we getting for our money? I would like to see the club dues go down (could cut in half) so that money could be used for the additional training that's needed to keep up with the other top players in the area. I'm basically paying twice?!?! Seems like a racket to me.

We are out of the racket thank goodness. Ask your daughter what she wants to get out of club lacrosse and measure your return on progress towards that goal. If the club is not providing you what your daughter wants you should stop investing the money and time. This is what we did with Pride. We channeled our energy into private lessons and now our daughter plays for a top D1 program. Pride had little to no impact on her achieving this goal. This may be the exception and not the rule but we found we did not need club lacrosse, but she had a strong high school program to fall back on.

Especially when you see these types of shenanigans - pull in existing/strong club, welcome this new 2027 team, make sure everyone pays their dues on time - and only then fire their coach to avoid paying her and tell these new families they have to deal with. I applaud those parents/families for telling the organization to pound sand (even at significant financial loss for them). Just worry most folks don't hear about this and new crop of families sign up for the sausage mill each year.

It's generally accepted that Pride is not well run. The challenge is - where else is there to go? Hopefully with the new facility and new director, Stars can be a better option. It's not like the Baltimore area where you have 6 or 7 options. Some finally do accept the state of NoVA lacrosse and make the drive into Maryland. Lots of time and mileage, but I get it.

Amazing to me that Pride and MC Elite both seem to have such similar issues. Kids with parents that don't want to make the trek north have to suffer. So much talent here. Such a shame.

Well here’s the thing…Stars can get talent…Pride talent just has to move on to Stars. Which seems like a logical step right now.

Pride has been the premier program for years and it will continue to be. They beat Stars in every age group, at every level. Even with KJ threatening kids who want to go leave. A director was fired and there seemed to be a serious reason behind it because the club got an email about directors not taking direct payments. Clearly Stars parents on this blog trying to get kids to move so they'll have better kids to play with.

Probably best to not, I get people are curious but that post called out specific minors, which was extremely poor form, even for this thread.
