I don't think it really matters what club the jerseys say on the front - Pride, Ultimate, the Pink Ladies, etc. The product we're paying for (and it's more than every other club out there) needs to be good. My daughter plays for Pride but the majority of her training comes from other sources. Pride is just the tip of the iceberg. It begs the question, what are we getting for our money? I would like to see the club dues go down (could cut in half) so that money could be used for the additional training that's needed to keep up with the other top players in the area. I'm basically paying twice?!?! Seems like a racket to me.
We are out of the racket thank goodness. Ask your daughter what she wants to get out of club lacrosse and measure your return on progress towards that goal. If the club is not providing you what your daughter wants you should stop investing the money and time. This is what we did with Pride. We channeled our energy into private lessons and now our daughter plays for a top D1 program. Pride had little to no impact on her achieving this goal. This may be the exception and not the rule but we found we did not need club lacrosse, but she had a strong high school program to fall back on.
