Agree. And it's fuel for the issue.

This is clearly made up statistic.

The only made-up part was someone mis-quoting (intentionally?) pp, by replacing the word “rifle” with firearm.

The statistic about rifles (of any / all types), IS TRUE.

Yeah no. Wrong.

Fentanyl is gutting our country.

But rifles? You are more likely to get clubbed / beaten to death, then shot with a rifle - including every single type of “assault rifle” combined.

It’s exceedingly rare.

Um - notice how she specified: RIFLES???

And she’s right; what she claims is a fact about knives, clubs, etc: more Americans are murdered with knives and clubs than any type of rifle - including all types of “assault rifles.”

So we need to first ban clubs, right?

How many mass clubbings or sniper clubbings have there been?

If the 2nd Amendment actually intended to protect private ownership of firearm (and that is debatable) we have proven we cannot handle it.

Ban them all.
Do you realize how many home invasions we’d have if we banned them all? Criminals don’t listen to bans, and what would we do about the 300 million guns already on the street. We are all walking on land minds when we leave the house everyday

Countries that have appropriate gun control do not have disproportionate crime. In fact in many it is the opposite.

Apples and oranges. Do you really think that if you impose some type of massive gun control that the United States is suddenly going to turn into Switzerland or Denmark or New Zealand? Those are wonderful places but they simply don't have to deal with the same underlying issues of criminal behavior that we do.

Oh ok. Let's just keep the status quo instead of trying something else. I'm sure things will get better with all the thoughts and prayers.

No no no.. the goal is to have every person carry a gun. That way we can all protect ourselves like real Americans did in the wild wild west. /s

Joking aside, the aim for the NRA and Rs is really to have everyone carry a gun. Those people actually think the answer to gun violence is more guns. There is something seriously off with these people, and the scary thing is they all have massive amounts of guns.

Mass shootings are extremely rare. But you already knew that.

Only in America.

The reason this does not happen in wealthy democratic European and Asian nations is that they have strict gun control laws!!!

Gun control.

Time to behave like civilized country already.

Yeah, no. Wrong.

This happens all over the globe. I blame mental illness.

I'm so tired of this GOP re-direct. Call me when a club does this -

Its amazing to me how riled up Americans will get over terrorists and brown bombers but the minute a white Christian shoots 400 people in 10 minutes - absolute silence.

They don't all think that's the answer. They just don't care.

Follow the money.

Don’t we believe: “never let a good tragedy go to waste?”

Anonymous wrote:Empathy. That's why some of us feel sorry for the shooter and his family. I felt bad for the sniper shooters. The Boston bombers. The black guy who ran down people in that parade in Milwaukee. It doesn't matter what race. I feel bad because I am human and I empathize with anyone who's life is now over and will never see the light of day again. To never be on the outside again is to never fully live again. I feel because I cannot imagine spending the rest of my life, especially at age 18, in prison. That is hell to me. So this empathy comes out of wishing these people made better choices and did not commit the acts they did.

This empathy can happen at the same time as hating what they did and fully supporting the victims and victims' families.

These people are so wrapped up into a mindset that they lack the self-awareness of how ludicrous it is. That's what kills me. When you hear interviews of people who used to be white nationalists talk about it after the fact. And you just wish all of them could escape it before it's too late.

There is sadness for everyone involved.

Hopefully he gets tortured and murdered in prison fairly quickly. He won’t have to suffer through all those years of jail and bleeding hearts like you would be satisfied right?
