Biden's VP?

No, Whitmer has not received any mention in over a month and is not included on any recent shortlists:

It’s between

Demings
Rice
Harris
Lance Bottomz
Warren
Duckworth

Warren and Demings are still my top pick. Harris for AG, especially with all of the litigation and investigations that will ensue and we understand the full extent of what Cult 45 did.

I actually doubt harris is going to take anything other than AG. She will have more of a profile making waves in the Senate than at AG, in terms of preparing for a future run. Also, I follow CA politics pretty closely and word on that ground is that Feinstein is likely retiring early (2021 or 2022). California dems don’t want two fresh senators.

Someone like Sally Yates would be great as AG. Doug Jones as well given that if he loses in November (99% chance), he will have nothing to lose and can rip Trump and his cronies to shreds.

I think Bass is still on the list. For me it's between Duckworth and Bass. I like Demings and think she could help with electability in some key areas, but I just don't think small city police chief and two years in the House qualifies her for VP. There's a reason Pelosi promoted Bass over her to Biden's team. I feel the same way about Bottoms. Rising star, but simply does not have sufficient qualifications for the job.

^^VP is not an appropriate training ground for political rookies.

K, that makes more sense now.

Harris is on record saying she is open to the possibility of accepting AG for Biden. She’d be foolish not too. I like that Yates stood up to Trump from the first days of his term. Haven’t heard much about her since. Not familiar with much of Doug Jones outside of his bio, but like that he may be able to work across the aisle, and that he held a former state AG position. The promotion would be good for Kamala if offered.

PP here. I can concede both of those points. Still, keep them close.

Actually just in the last hour it's been reported Biden said she remains in contention:

I can't imagine she'll be the pick, even though I find her very likable and competent.

If Biden picks someone with no intention of running in 2024. could you see Kamala running from the AGs office? I could honestly

I think if the replacement for Harris is someone with congressional experience then it should be okay. I think Xavier Becerra is a good replacement for her.

Running away from the AG role? No, I actually think it would be all the more reason for her to serve as AG. The experience could strengthen a 2024 bid for her as President-elect. She doesn’t have a very strong position on anything and we don’t need a floppy noodle up to bat. The streets of 1600 Penn are real.

Especially since her AG history is an Achilles heel right now, it would benefit her to make a name for herself by prosecuting the Trump cabal and committing to social justice issues instead.

Yes. People would love her for that. Given the social justice issues in this time and age, I actually think her exposure for American voters is better in an AG role than a senate role. She needs to show grit. If she does this right she becomes one of the strongest candidates for 2024. Assuming she is offered the honor of the opportunity.
