According to NPR, federal funding is "essential."

Does that mean that Tesla is a state company?

Freedom of expression matters.

Twitter banned a documentary on human rights abuses by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

SpaceX too, even more. Would not exist without government funding.

This is where journalism loses. You have a journalist who is going to take cheap shots in an interview (AKA taking the easy way), but really doesn't know his subject matter. You see, it's easy if you can write a one-sided hit piece that can't be rebuffed because it happens so fast to grab headlines and clicks.

But if you are not a subject matter expert and do it live and don't know FACTS, you may get your head handed to you.

What follows was well deserved. I wish more people would confront shoddy "journalism".

Yet another poor performance by the reporter.

So, James Clayton was granted an exclusive interview with Elon Musk. Does he turn around and write an article based on the interview?
No, he goes on Twitter, calls his time with Musk a "crazy interview," then links any negative article he can find published by other media companies. WTH?

Getting a tiny piece of federal funding doesn’t make them state media, because the state doesn’t determine content. Also, Elon was too dumb to label VOA state media, when they are literally state media.

Their behavior makes them state media. If they are so heavily inclined to pick a side, then they should get 0 taxpayer dollars.

The Feds are choosing to subsidize electric cars through tax breaks. The taxpayers ultimately benefit. Only NPR benefits from their slant

NPR is in the business of news.

Yeah, they’ve been cheerleaders for the GOP. Based on that alone they should lose their money. Trying to advertise to the Devil is the worst.

I pay taxes, and I consume NPR. So I benefit, too.

^ Perfect illustration of right wing mentality toward the media right here

Of late, facts and evidence do not support conservative positions, and even less so, MAGA positions - reality itself has a liberal bias, yet the right wing says "they are picking a side." Yet NPR has not actually changed much, not when Biden is in office, not when Trump was in office, not when Obama was in office - yet somehow they are supposedly a "state mouthpiece" according to Elon Musk. Weird, why weren't they promoting Trump when he was in charge then, if they are "state media?"

If they take tax dollars, you’d be happy if they shilled for Trump? My guess is no
