Elon Musk buys $3 billion stake (9.2%) in Twitter and is now the platform's largest shareholder

Biden alienated Musk from the start by not inviting him to participate in his meetings with car manufacturers. Biden did not invite Musk because Musk does not have a union shop. Musk has not gotten over that. Biden made a big mistake then. I think he tried to make up for it somewhat later. At first Biden did not want to include Teslas for the tax credit because of the "union" issue, but then they decided to base the tax credit on percentage of parts made in the US (and Tesla is a big winner there).

So all this is about Elon having a hissy fit?

Yes, we love our Tesla. And we are pretty left politically (would never vote for TFG). We bought it for the car, not who started the company. Many people of all political stripes are employed there and they make a great American car. It's far ahead of any of the other electric cars, but buy whatever you want.

Henry Ford was a Nazi lover and people bought his car FWIW.

I wasn’t aware there were dozens of car companies during Henry Ford’s time.

Maybe not, but Ford and Musk have one thing in common. They are both innovators. Musk was the only one making an electric car when he started. The battery technology was a big deal. Huge.

Musk didn’t single-handedly invent the electric car from the ground up. He provided the investment to the original founders.

I’m sorry that the Democrats support unions. It really seems to bug Republicans.

It was their design and their vision

If it makes you feel better I'm a Republican and won't ever buy a Tesla either, but I don't factor Musk into the equation of any decision to buy a car. I think that's absurd. Just like I think it's absurd not to eat at Chick-fil-A just because you don't agree with the owner's values.

If it makes you feel better, I’m a Democrat who previously considered a Tesla but will never purchase one because of Elon’s antics and immaturity. He’s really diminished the brand.

But I do enjoy a nice meal from Chick-fil-a from time to time! Delicious food and outstanding service for a fast food restaurant.

I don't think that was a mistake, no.

My college ds has a used Tesla. We gave him a car budget and he found one in that budget. I didn't want to be political about it so we got it. It is a fun car but also not the most well-made.

Teslas suck so this is a blessing in disguise. Really. There are so many better EVs out there.

I’ve had a hybrid car and now have an EV and will never go back. They’re excellent.

And yet there are more Teslas on the road in the DC metro area than Camrys or Accords. And everyone I know who owns one loves it.

Still not buying one. We’ve loved our Volvo EV and are now seriously considering Lucid. Good friends love their VW.

No need to get a Tesla for any reason.

Showing that genius political instinct he has.

Musk is a buffoon. He told Jordan Peterson that he supports the GOP because they are “the party of meritocracy”.

There's a shocking potential leak that just came out that shows why Twitter hasn't taken action against ToS violations by right wing accounts. An alleged code leak shows that there is a list of accounts (all right wing) that has been whitelisted to be allowed to post anything they want.

That he had - and lost, along with the rest of his marbles.

Exactly. Why should the president care about a racist billionaire that is clearly insane?
