Bet those players leave or go to VSA |
VDA does not have a capable striker. Things need to change or those 4 draws will change to loses very quick |
It's always so difficult to tell via posts if someone is serious or not but you're not wrong in your evaluation based on metrics. And from my perspective just looking at those it still reinforces that original post of PWC/particularly eastern PWC potentially being in a bad spot for that particular age group. We're all seeing a rise in these elite co-op programs where clubs consolidate their talent to form an elite team with the most recent being SYC/Mclean. I just don't see how its healthy to form these kind of teams if the players aren't ready for it. Is it better to have an 'elite squad' or even an ECNL regional team within a particular age group when the players aren't ready or is it more healthy to develop them at a level where they can compete and progress to the next level when ready? For ECNL play looking at VDA, they are currently 5-0-4 with a +13 goal differential. Conversely Richmond United which operates on a similar model of building their team I assume is at 8-0-2 with a +38. Moving over to regional for the feeder teams into both of those programs for the first flight games the only standout is the PWSI 08GRL team at 0-5-2 with a -16GD. VSA and the two teams that feed into RU aren't doing as bad that's for sure in terms of regional play in my opinion. The kickers at 4-4-0 at -9GD is still at the end of the day batting .500 and competitively speaking that's not the worst thing in the world particularly if they're rebuilding their coffers but I don't know much about their program at the lower levels. Just a quick look and I could be wrong but it doesn't even appear as if the kickers field a team in VSL which I assume is their equivalent of our NCSL. Back to what a previous commenter said. Maybe it would absolutely make sense to not field a team for PWSI at the regional level. Drop them back to where they can be competitive and develop the team and when they're ready for regional play move them up there. I think what concerns the club however is that they have a competitive classic team already in NCSL D1 and they wouldn't want to hear what parents had to say if they saw two products from the same club with one coach that isn't a club coach having nearly the same production. |
| Pay to play. Classic parents don’t pay. |
| What is the advantage for a 12/13 yo player in a team that is focused on wins? Half of the players don’t play properly to really develop into the game. ECNL substitution rules, travel expenses and a club that focuses only on wins think we’ll before you decide on the club. Recruiters are not looking at the young teams. |
I can agree to this comment. Classic is not development. They are only there to win. There’s no synchronization and passing . Although it’s all fun and games now , but for someone that want a long term development for soccer , it’s not a place to be. |

I can see how if a team is solely concerned about wins and not properly playing to get those wins can be a problem.
But I also can see how fielding a team in a division above their heads can be problematic to their development as well. |
Game summary: In the first half, PWSI had possession most of the time. With an unfortunate rebound, VSA made a goal. The goalie was too short the went right over her head. In the second half, VSA had most possessions; the VSA striker had a few runs that broke down the defense and scored. PWSI had opportunities to score, but it lacks players to finish. The game was close, but it doesn't reflect the score. |
Not to mention the winds are going against PWSI in 2nd half |
| thats right. one team won because of the wind. |
| ECNL verbal offers are out now, those started back in Jan and Feb... The written/email offers are coming this weekend. If your DD doesn't have a verbal at this stage in the game you might want to consider a different club or be cognizant your coach is trying to replace your kiddo so get ready for watching your child sit. |
| Forget that nonsense. FCV has superior coaching, promotion and college placement. No need to waste your time in ecnl. Gal is the top league. Are any ecnl clubs playing at img? No. Didn’t think so |
Lol. This is a great post. |
True...or be kicked down to ECNL-r(or the new CCl2) ...the coach will always say there is a chance your DD will make it from the second team...lol...no. Do not believe the hype...go to a new club and be a starter. |
So you’re saying ccl and ecnl are equivalent? Please stop. |
