I'll answer that: he signed a tax cut for the wealthy and corporations. And before anybody brings up the filibuster - it's not enshrined in the Constitution, and Republicans abolished the filibuster for SCOTUS nominees because they truly cared about putting Gorsuch on the Supreme Court. If they truly cared about immigration reform they could have abolished the filibuster for that too.

They care about keeping immigration as an issue to get their bigoted voters riled up, that’s for sure.

Plus they can count on their voters to repeat whatever garbled nonsense they give them to defend the GOP for not getting legislation passed. Republican voters don’t demand a lot of consistency; they’re pretty happy being mad all the time.

The House Republicans passed HR 2, Secure the Border Act of 2023.
Chuck Schumer won't bring it up in the Senate.

just like the Democrats refuse to mandate e-verify. Something that is proven effective at helping US workers maintain fair wages.

What, did they run out of Post Offices to name? If the House GOP wanted to pass anything other than a messaging bill they would have worked with Democrats (which they've just demonstrated they're capable of doing). Biden won't sign anything into law that got zero votes from House Dems. Schumer is just preventing a colossal waste of time.

Can you imagine the outrage from the left had he dared to do anything like that? They were already (stupidly) calling him a “racist” for limiting illegal immigration in any way. Millions of Americans would have cheered an unambiguous new law addressing illegal immigration. Unfortunately, the left makes anything that resembles common sense impossible.
