Let’s move on.
I like Madison for the win again but it should be a close exciting game

I’m a Liberty District parent but I’ll say that Oakton #21 is one great player! She does all the little things that a team needs done to be successful. Plus, her lax IQ is off the chart! I’ve been watching her for years and know she is going to step into that Sr Leadership role next year and Oakton isn’t going to miss a beat!

Anyone know why she's not on Capital?

Maybe she likes playing with YJ’s and Coach Hogue

Yes she plays YJ

Poor Kid! Maybe she can find a home at a real club this summer.

Obviously that program is working for her. She is a sophomore and has a lot of room to grow in every aspect. Pretty sure switching clubs at this point won’t make a difference. She will progress just fine. Poor kid was a poor choice of words.

The kid is great! But we all know YJ is not. They love to find a good athlete and claim the glory! That is the LC trademark. I wish her well and success. Because she such a great athlete she will be successful regardless of what program she is with. Maybe she will get the invite from Capital this summer!

I’ve been through the recruiting process with my daughter, and Capital is not the end all be all. I know of several YJ South players who were highly recruited, and VA Metro’s 23 Black team had something like 18 of 21 players recruited (at least 13 D1). Capital is a fine club, but good players don’t need to feel like it’s a superior path. More important is liking your coach and teammates, having fun, and doing the work to get better and get in front of college coaches.

The days of Metro getting kids recruited are long over. YJMA doesn’t have a track record either. Sure, talented players will get seen but it takes a lot more work.

I don't agree with you. The Capital name must carry a ton of weight. A lot of girls from the past 2-3 years have been recruited to college teams that way outmatch their individual lacrosse ability.

You have no idea how well any of those players showed at prospect camps. Also, many Capital Blue players also play for private schools, so it’s hard to say who is developing the players and which affiliation carried more weight. College coaches don’t recruit based on club reputation, there are hundreds of clubs, they recruit based on what they see from the player.

Both goalies played great, especially the Robinson freshman. It was an 8-6 game with 2:30 left and the Spartans had to press to avoid us running out the clock. We were able to get a couple empty netters late to make the final a little different than the game actually was.

Yes, agreed, it was a great Region semifinal with good officiating. The draw was dominated by Sparty, by my count, 12-7, in favor of WS (Robo won one on a false start). Too many untimely turnovers by Sparty cost them the game.
