Biden's VP?

-Bolton, extensive foreign policy experience and former assistant AG

Look, I am a big fan of Buttigieg. He is just too green. I think he should run for congress in Indiana and get some more experience. He has a bright career ahead of him.

Look, there isn’t a position that Buttigieg could be appointed to where he wouldn’t be a quick study and a big improvement over the current office holder. So stop acting like anyone put you in charge of appointments.

If you think comparing Biden's potential members to their Trump counterparts is a good way of judging how qualified they are, be my guest. I've worked in foreign policy for my entire career and this is just my opinion.

I doubt it. I would have no problem with a female candidate+running mate but fear how the country would react. It will probably be Women of Color Candidate + White male Running mate.

Tammy Duckworth Pete Buttigieg 2024, bet.

If Buttigieg does well with a plumb Cabinet appointment (UN ambassador?), I could see this.

Here's the problem with Buttigieg. Not only was he way too green to be President, he doesn't even have enough relevant experience for the plumb Cabinet appointments. And he's way more experienced that Stacey Abrams.

Buttigieg has no foreign policy experience to qualify for UN ambassador. He has very good domestic policy experience, but he has virtually no foreign policy experience. Appointing someone like that to the UN ambassador position would be more like Trump than Biden.

I think Mayor Garcetti would be a great UN Ambassador personally. I could see him in that spot for four years and then moving to Sec. of State in the next dem. admin. Garcetti has worked extensively with foreign leaders in to build partnerships for the City of LA and even taught international relations as a college professor.

Makes sense. PB would be best qualified for HUD.

This is a good idea. PB could follow Tom Perez's path. Career cabinet official and then DNC Chair. He could become a power player and would be loved by dems/left leaning for years. Then retire and get a spot of CNN or MSNBC. Set for life.

So likable and competent, but maybe too low-key for the pick?

She's great. Thanks for sharing the article. I think shed be a good pick and would excite the progressives and younger voters who holding up their noses to vote for trump. If picked, I doubt she'd run in 2024 leaving an open primary for dems which will be exciting.

I agree she’s great but that’s a terrible strategy. Why would you want to have another crowded chaotic primary when you can run an incumbent VP instead?

Well she'd only be 70, she could certainly run if she wanted to. Who knows if she'd want to.

I don't think she will. The next dem nominee will be in their 40s or 50s. It is time to move onto the younger generation. Biden has said specifically that he wants to be a bridge to the next generation.

If B is too green for any of those roles, Obama should not have been President.

Obama had 3 terms in the state senate and 1 in the US Senate, where he served on Foreign Relations and Homeland Security Committees and chaired the Europe subcommittee, plus he had been a constitutional law professor. He was credentialed. Vs. mayor of a small city, please.

Thank you. Took the words right out of my mouth.

This has got to be one of the worst takes I’ve read on this website. Not only was Obama a Senator, he was also one of the most charismatic and talented politicians of the past century. To even compare them in this manner is ridiculous.
