Tens of thousands of dollars raised on a non sanctioned money platform, collected outside of the FCPS booster system by a FCPS employee with zero oversight and accountability.

How is Reid not addressing this???

Anyone who has worked on any sort of FCPS activity or sport fundraising, from football to marching band to choir to science olympiad knows how strict FCPS is when collecting money from students via booster fundraising or ticket sales.

This part has to be publicly addressed by the school board. It is a flagrant abuse of power that directly gives a middle finger to fundraising protections that are enforced by FCPS in every other club and sport, except apparently, Hayfield football.

Because like most of the rumors circulating, this is not true. Unless of course you want to investigation the 30+ other schools in the state of Virginia that used the exact same platform for fundraisers this year amongst multiple sports this past fall. I've seen at least 7 other schools that have posted pictures with the BIG CHECK from the same fundraiser. Another school (in FCPS) posted pictures for their Football, Volleyball, Boy Volleyball and Cheer teams fundraising efforts using the same vendor.

Much like VHSL, you can't prosecute on your feelings and heresay. Facts actually matter

You don't know how to spell "hearsay." Where did you get your JD from? God the Overton backers are pathetic.

Also, the platform (MoneyDolly) wasn't the problem. The problem as the original poster who brought this up noted "The company that Overton hired for the above-mentioned 'fundraiser' is run by his friend and isn't registered to actually collect funds in VA." Seriously, sit this one out.

So you think the platform, MollyDolly, that hundreds of other schools/sports utilize in the state of Viriginia was utilized legally by every other department in Hayfield and every other school in Virginia BUT Overton chose to use it illegaly. Like you said, sit this one out. lol

It was stated in an article that it was Cash app not MoneyDolly. I’m sure they used that as well but it said the team mom with no kids on the team was collecting money to be sent via Cash app or cash handed to her.

Did the article also tell you I have some oceanfront or for sale in Alaska. I def know he used MD and not CA. You folks will say anything to try and discredit this man. Do you have a link to said article or can you not remember where you read it. He would have been fired for sure.

Don’t seem like it, I’m sure it would have been all over the place by now.

The fact that Overton feels the need to live vicariously through children and run up the score on other children...it is obvious he is compensating for something.

Its difficult to raise issues at school board meeting. A lot of nutjobs jump on the public commentary time slots and even if you get a spot, there is no engagement with you by the school board.

He is pretty short.

City of Fairfax also sent separate letter to FCPS School Board. How embarrassing when another district sending letter on how to do basic governance.

They won’t quit, they are all schools that hv been embarrassed “on the field “. What’s funny is I KNOW personally some of these coaches and it’s all a sham for them to protect “their” school. But it’s too much money to lose and then try and use the senior class as scapegoats is pathetic. Let em walk.

Wow! The fact that this thread has 153 pages says a lot about our society. It is sad to see so many adults arguing over a sport, and money that will be wasted in litigation. I get that there have been many issues, but sports are optional, and in the end, how many of these kids will go on to play in the NFL? Or maybe it is just me, and I am completely misinformed.
By the way, my daughters are multiple sport athletes as well, so we are 100% supportive of high school athletics, however, academics always come first.

A judge had to come in and rule against an organization that broke rules themselves to levy punishment against a school that violated something that couldn’t even be explained in a court of law. Make that make sense

Correct you need those academics to be eligible to play the sports

Totally agree. A lot of time, money, and energy spent on this.

He is pretty short.

Misguided again unless you’re talking about the brother, the DC who is shorter than the HC
