LOL, does that logic also apply to Trump, or only to politicians you agree with?

He is your hero as long as Russia doesn't aim their missiles towards the US.. Or as long as they don't target your area with the massive cyber attacks to make it uninhabitable for a while. Once your kids are cold and hungry, we will see how you will cheer foreign officials bravery that may drag us into a war we were trying to avoid for many decades. I will admire from afar.. as long as we don't get deeply involved

Russia doesn’t get the rusted doors of their silos open before we wipe them off the map

Our silos are rusted. Our missiles are slow, inaccurate and easily shot down. Russia has highly maneuverable hypersonic nuclear missiles against which we have no defense. https://www.military.com/equipment/weapons/why-russias-hypersonic-missiles-cant-be-seen-radar.html

For the billionth time poster. Russia has no hypersonics. None. Not a one. None are operational Our nukes are the most accurate in the world by far. Our nukes are at least 4 generations ahead of Russia today.
In any event you cannot get past our subs.

+1 I don’t know what alternate reality posters are living in. We outspend every other country by billions.
Where do you all think that defense budget is going? Finding articles drumming up fear to keep those sweet dollars flowing doesn’t change the fact.
I’m not saying we wouldn’t see damage. We see ( rightfully) even 1 detonation as unacceptable. Putin does not likely share that sentiment.
He is an irrational actor.

Our military spending goes to salaries. Russia and China have hypersonic missiles. We don’t. https://www.ft.com/content/7d566088-7d25-4fde-9b02-311f86eb845e

25% goes to salary. that’s not most and even if it was, we’re still outspending everyone else.

Russia and China have operational hypersonic missiles. Other countries are developing them. The U.S. is not. https://www.sandboxx.us/blog/here-are-all-hypersonic-weapons-russia-and-china-have-in-service/

Seriously. He is the right man for this job. I couldn't be more grateful to have Biden as President right now rather than the alternative.

As someone who once worked in foreign policy and human rights, he's handling this as well as he possibly could. We should all be shaking in our boots because Putin has nukes and appears to be an unreasonable actor with bad intel right now. I wish it was guaranteed that Biden acting in the most prudent way possible would assure our safety and continued leadership. That's not the world we live in.

For me, this indicates the necessity of reckoning with the reality of nuclear weapons and what them mean and the likelihood that they will, at some point, be controlled by a leader who is governed more by his own ego than rational decision making.

Completely agree. Glad I voted for him.

Please, that's not reality. Putin united NATO. Biden admitted that SWIFT sanctions could not be implemented because he couldn't convince EU nations to go along. He admitted this openly. The NATO nations woke up because they realized that what has been repeatedly told to them has now come to pass, that their weak-kneed posturing on the global stage and flowery talks about peace and diplomacy is meaningless against an aggressive and ambitious enemy like Putin. They finally saw that the only way to protect themselves is through increased military spending because even Biden said the quiet part out loud that the west would do nothing if Putin just roughed up Ukraine a little bit.

Or, he called the EU out publicly to ramp up the pressure on them

AGAIN, reality: Biden admitted that EU refused to kick Russia out of SWIFT. Biden did not call them out and was trying to explain how the *other* sanctions are nearly as good. He was giving cover to the EU's refusal and only admitted that the EU refused to kick Russia out of SWIFT after repeatedly being asked by multiple reporters why this has not yet been done.

AGAIN, reality: following that revelation the European countries that were against kicking Russia out of SWIFT changed their minds and Russia got kicked out of SWIFT

Biden didn't call them out as claimed, that's my point. He was forced to admit it, as I stated.

And that is how one politely calls someone out. It worked. Wtf are you complaining about? That he wasn't an a-hole in public about it? His way worked. End of story.

Yes. OK. A fusion bomb doesn’t have to actually hit a target to totally destroy it. Russia also has operational hypersonics. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/russia-missile-launch-ukraine-crisis-b2018836.html

Did read the article. They don't. China has some. Russia has none that are operational. The article is flat wrong. But again so what? Even if they did it does not change anything. All of our Boomers are out now. They can't be traced and 2-3 minutes before impact.

Look at the Russian military. Tanks are decades behind ours. they have antitank weapons we used in the 1970s. They have not used them much yet but their choppers are 1980s era. Their fighter jets could not compete with the F-14, 15 never mind the two or three generations in between. Despite this you would have us believe that they have a state of the art hypersonic nuke system? It makes no sense. This is a lot like the 1960 election where JFK kept saying there was a missile gap greatly favoring the USSR and that we were far behind We were not and in fact we were ahead but Nixon could not say that because the US did not want the USSR to know. Anyone paying attention would know that DDE would not leave the country exposed when he was President. The Russians are little better than a third world power. Except that they have nukes. Great for them. Use them and they die.

I am so grateful that Biden is in charge now. I've thought about how anxious and stressed rational Russian citizens must be wondering if their leader will shoot off nukes to save his ego, and I would feel the same right now if Trump were president.

Markle was a strong and level headed leader, but we are here in part because of her. She prioritized Germany's economic supremacy while milking the US's policing presence in the world. Trump's admin called it right, it is time for Germany and NATO to wake the f up and do their part.

Angela did a lot for Europe. But she dismantled Germany’s nuclear power plants, making Germany dependent on Russian gas. Now Germany seems to be all in on helping Ukraine. For those of us old enough to remember the oil shock of the early 1970s, Germany is in for a lot of trouble. Gerald Ford even floated the idea of going to war against Saudi Arabia in one interview.
