Huh. Platelets. Where have I heard that before? Oh right: “Two weeks later, she began to have heavy vaginal bleeding. After two days she saw her obstetrician, who ordered blood work and scheduled other tests. A few hours later, he called and urged her to go straight to the emergency room. He was stunned and hoped it was a lab error, but her blood count showed zero platelets.” https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/08/health/immune-thrombocytopenia-covid-vaccine-blood.html But, seriously, nothing to investigate here. It’s not permanent, it’s chance, it’s anecdotal... |
I’m sure they are investigating it. Report to VAERS if you have prolonged or heavy bleeding, and go see your doctor. |

Anecdotal. Have been watching this with interest.
Mid 40s Tracking for last year; ranging from 29-33 day cycles. Last period started 3/20 Pfizer dose one on 4/2 Period today, 4/15 25 day cycle, 2 weeks after shot |
I have done both, thanks. Unfortunately it seems doctors don’t necessarily know how to treat the odd rare side effect, as they are unfolding in real time. |

| My periods came when supposed to after first abs second Moderna shot. They were slightly lighter than normal and less cramping... I am almost 37 BTW |
| Doctors are as dumbfounded as all of us, they don’t know. Covid and the vaccines are too new to know anything. We are involved in one huge experiment. Thanks Wuhan lab. |
| Any more updates from any of the PP who were suffering? Have these side effects subsided? |
| Got my second Pfizer shot this last Saturday. I am due the next Saturday. No period in sight. So far so good! |
I posted a while back that I have an IUD and had lower stomach pain after both doses. After reading this thread I thought maybe they were cramps. Update- it’s two months after the second dose and I have light spotting. I have not had a period in a very long time. DD has hers right now and I remember how women in the same house get them at the same time. So odd. I’m considering calling the doctor. No cramps. |

Calling what dr? They have no idea what to do about these side effects sadly. But keep us posted. |
I’m one of at least two long bleeders in this thread, and still going on day, uhhh, 46, I think? Lost count. Granted, it is much lighter and not debilitating as it was in the beginning, but it is still very much present. I am managing and dealing with side effects of oral progesterone, which are in some ways worse than the bleeding itself. Honestly, the most depressing part of all of this is trying to find reliable information on the internet and wading into places where people are just lambasting women for bringing up abnormal bleeding. There’s definitely some anti-vax quackery out there, but there are some legitimate concerns that are being lumped together and drowned out, and that’s a real shame. |
How old are you PP? My mom dealt with this prolonged bleeding in her 40s and ended up needing a uterine ablation (I think that's what it was?). I wonder if some women are more prone to these type of things for whatever reason and the vaccine sort of pushes it over the edge. |
| I had bad headaches and horrible leg aches before getting my period 10 days after J&J. It was a bit stressful and in fact my dr. ordered a brain mri. I couldn't schedule it until after I got my period when things mostly resolved, so I ended up canceling. Definitely a turbo charged PMS but otherwise a normal period. (That was another sign that made me less worried, I figured if I had low platelets, the bleeding would be excessive). |
