I know of a gal with a billionaire father who ran cross country at an HYP. She was an adequate but nothing special high school runner. She was legitimately on the HYP roster for at least her first year. She seemed to spend more time on exotic trips than on campus. |
![]() URMs do not bribe to get their kids into these kinds of schools, They get there in such large numbers because of their athletic abilities and test scores primarily. |
Right. That’s why I said above that the kids posing as athletes most likely knew. But I can see how some of the students who weren’t going the fraudulent athlete route didn’t know they were doing anything wrong. |
Looks like they didn’t go to a good private school w top admissions counselors who could have advised them how to do this “legally” - lots of wealthy people whose kids are athletes who get into ivies w donations commitments |
Is that comment above basically saying the daughter was too dull to figure out how to navigate Common App website? Once you upload the recommendations and main essay, it's mostly just a lot of mouse clicks. |
Then the feds need to charge these kids as well and as ADULTS. Let's go. Chop chop. |
Even if the kids didn't know their parents were involved in the cheating (e.g., didn't know their SAT answers were being corrected), the info on their applications was false and the product of fraud, and has made public. If they aren't kicked out, there will likely be outrage on the part of families that had better stats and actually would've qualified for admission. The colleges have to protect their brand. |
Apparently Loughlin's daughter bragged about how she is only going to college for game days and partying: “I don’t know how much of school I’m gonna attend,” she shared with her nearly 2 million subscribers, after explaining her extensive work schedule. “But I’m gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone, and hope that I can try and balance it all. But I do want the experience of like game days, partying…I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know.”

There is a market for this kind of corruption and so it exists. Lack of transparency in how colleges select students is also a factor. It allows them to discriminate against Asian-Americans, it allows them to take bribes (legacies and donations are no different). |
Me too ![]() |
The picture you are posting/reacting to is of Huffman and Macy and their children. The email show that Huffman considered doing the scam again for DD #2 but backed out. Loughlin/Giannuli did it for both their kids. |
Girl is an idiot. There was an outcry about this at the time and now we all know mommy paid for her admissions. |
Seriously. Huge betrayal. |
So the guy with the fake foundation/consulting business is pleading guilty today. Not clear if he is going to cooperate in exchange for a lighter sentence. There is someone who worked for him who is cooperating with the FBI.
More is going to come out. |
Between approximately 2011 and 2018, parents paid CW-1 approximately $25
million to bribe coaches and university administrators to designate their children as purported recruited athletes, or as members of other favored admissions categories, thereby facilitating the children’s admission to those universities. |
