He's 6'2". Maybe you saw a look a like shorty?

I used to date the short version of a well known celebrity.

I went to college with a look-alike tiny Brad Pitt.

Schwarzenegger is not 6'2". I've run into him a couple of times, back when he lived (or visited) DC regularly. I'm 5'8", and he was much closer to my height then that. Most of these guys lie and are made to look taller on film. He was huge, though.

I also flew from Bangalore to Frankfurt sitting next to Richard Gere--stood next to him a few times. He's quite a bit smaller than the 5'11" on his bio, too. He was quite nice, but pretty scruffy looking.

Schwarzenegger had a history of body building competitions where height/weight was well documented. Maybe most celebrities can get away with fibbing a bit about their stats but I don't think that was possible for a guy like Arnold. I do wonder if maybe you ran into a look a like.

This. You cannot fake those records.

Actually he has been accused of doing that many times. http://mentalfloss.com/article/66782/ongoing-mystery-arnold-schwarzeneggers-actual-height

And I am positive I saw the real thing unless he hired a body double to pose as the governor of California.

You know what? A LOT of models, actors, et al fudge their stats on their portfolios, so it is not outrageous that what we know is "off" by a few inches.

I was a teenage mom who sat down on a bench in Seattle with my son to feed him. Kurt Cobain was sitting there smoking. He put out his cigarette.

I was feeding DS cheerios one by one, one dropped, DS leaned over to look, and Kurt put his arm out at the same time I did to make sure DS didn't fall over. Then he held his hand out for the cheerios and fed DS one by one. DS grinned at him the whole time.

When we were leaving, I said, "Thank you." He said, "Everyone needs a break sometimes." DS and I went down the block to meet my boyfriend. Then we were walking back, Kurt was still sitting there, and I waved to him. He smiled back. I was very young and he was one of the first people who didn't do or say something to make me feel like a stupid, slutty girl who should have known better.

Frances was born the following year.

Thank you for sharing this story. I love Kurt and Nirvana, was in 6th grade when Nevermind was released. Now as an adult instead of an angst ridden teen, I see and appreciate him in a different light.

That is so incredibly kind. I had no idea he was nice. Was Nirvana famous then?

Different poster but he is super nice. He was introduced to a friend of mine pre-fame and my friend invited him out with a group of buddies, and Kurt thanked him and told him how much it meant to him to be included in a group. I think he was always a little lonely.

Funny story, he remembers that night Kurt went to the ATM and he had like 200 bucks in his account and he was like, "this is the most money I've ever had in here!"

Sorry I meant *was* super nice. Yikes. English isn't my strong suit.

Anonymous wrote:Saw Paul Newman a few times at a fancy food store in Ct that I worked at. He asked me to recommend peaches and requested a pecan pie, etc. Very polite, animated, and down to Earth. Gorgeous.!!! (Obviously.) This was about 30 years ago. Saw David Letterman and Jessica Tandy there, too. No impression or interaction.

Was this Peter's Market in Weston, by chance? I worked there in the 80's. Never got to see Paul Newman or Robert Redford (who also lived in the area at the time). They both came in on days I wasn't working...there were other fancier stores in the area, though, but I can't remember the names. Small world...

I heard big heads look good on camera.

Giada, for example, is a lollipop but she looks good behind the camera.

Christina Ricci

That's funny because I think both of those women look like they have big heads...the camera doesn't hide that so I'm not sure why it's though to look so good.

This might be my favorite thread...
Will definitely be if Marky Mark's poster comes back with details.

Saw Keira Knightly out with her DD once and she looked very normal and shy. I barely recognised her. Though her jawline really stood out...it’s not as attractive in person as it is on film.

What an odd thing to say when he helped you out. Maybe you're just not used to people with different accents than your own?

Did you read the part about him not saying anything to the OP?

I met a lot of musicians and rappers in college - Perry Farrell from Jane's Addiction was my favorite. He talked shit about Axl Rose to me, lol! The guys from the Roots are all super nice. Beck was a total weirdo.
