When a celebrity in person really underwhelms you

Sister Helen Prejeune of “Dead Man Walking”. Very kind and caring. Down to earth. She is a distant cousin of mine.

Police Chief Moose of MCPD, very stiff and appeared insecure and out of place. No leadership ability.

Nancy Pelosi appears short. Was speaking to a dozen reports and judging by the camera angles and direction she was facing, she acted like it was hundreds.

Wolf Blitzer drives and walks fast. Not big but appears ego driven.

She and her boyfriend (at the time) had a dog with them and we have dog crazy kids so we spent a good amount of time chatting. She was totally charming and young!

My SIL went to school with her at Tisch. Said she was fairly quiet and super nice.

Saw VP Cheney up close twice. Busy and impatient looking. Serious with no apparent sense of humor. He may have been about 5’9”. Checks his watch a lot

Pierce Brosnan at Dulles security line. He ended up being on our flight to London too. Was traveling with his wife and some other women and seemed super down to earth. Just as handsome and dashing in person.

Saw Nicolette Sheridan in Hawaii 15 years ago. She complimented me on my perfume. I didn’t even recognise her. She had so much sun damage and looks awful without make up.

I see many celebs just because of where I live (not LA). Paul McCartney is an awful cyclist, actually bike rider...he almost ran over my kid and was yelling sorry while looking back and almost hit a lamp post. He's a very nice man and supports the community

Alec Baldwin at beach in winter, stepping out of limo with disheveled shorts and dresses shoes, dragging a towel on ground like Linus. Maybe 'lil drunk from previous night. Also, gives generously to community

Billy Joel in a local shop. Scrappy and short but pleasant

Christie Brinkley singing and walk-skipping happily down a local street alone. Thought maybe she was being filmed...nope

I'm not a star struck type (BUT LOVE) Nathan Lane who was in Starbucks. We were the only people there very early morn. I adored him in Birdcage and I so desperately wanted to do my Oscar winning lines. I do Agador Spartacus better than Hank Azaria. I couldn't do it! I didn't even say hello. I wanted him to be animated and friendly but he wasn't. He did crack a smile so there's that.

Lily Tomlin - a million years ago I was part of the opening of a famous Times Square hotel. She was a frequent guest. Exactly as you might imagine. Her voice, full length fur, toy dog in her arms and so incredibly sweet and friendly.

Met many others at hotel, but I've overstated my welcome here ; )

He was dating Dana back then and I used to see them all the time in the neighborhood and also at Sarabeth's Kitchen, a popular brunch spot back then. I remember him being very tall and very shy. Both were lovely.

Was he handsome in person? Was he someone you would notice even if he wasn’t famous? I’m curious. I saw Superman as an adult again, and I
Hadn’t noticed as a child how handsome he was!

Haha not sure if you're serious bc of the length or my pp

Jimmy Fallon - He's everywhere in my town. And he is so accessible and hilarious to the kids! Never denies a group selfie. DS posted a close up of him eating bacon on Instagram with his caption "bacon Is life" . Half the kids here have selfies with him on social media.

DS came home from camp maybe 5 years ago. Asked questions and got typical boy answers i.e. good, yeh. DH asked him if he made any friends and he said maybe with this girl Apple. DH was clueless obviously. I asked him if she was fun. He said she's tall and her mom is famous because she wrote a cookbook. Lol this one is my favorites. I let it go and didn't tell DS who her dad was because he was obsessed with Coldplay at the time. Saw mom/dad a couple of times at pick up and they were very cautious standoffish, undestandably. Saw again at beach and same. Coldplay was at a local venue around the corner from our home. He came out and waved and was friendly to the kids.
