This is funny. |
| I worked with a lot of celebrities during their book stores. I worked for a company that contracted their promotional tours. A lot of the celebrities that are "dumb" are work horses and have really smart people around them and they are smart enough to listen and thus very rich. Britney Spears comes to mind, she wrote a small advice type book with her mom in the late 1990s. She really really works. And had a very detailed agenda that she highlighted each thing as accomplished. Always was on time, answer my calls, would write things down and very polite. Worked with her about 3 years ago for a very small promotional gig in a much more distant compactly but everyone said the same thing. Once again answer calls, always on time, wore what was asked of her and memorized down to the word anything asked of her to repeat. Teresa Guidice is also like this. She had a cookbook that my company promoted. Same thing. Not super smart but willing to do anything asked of her. Always on time, writes everything down, polite. She also is very blunt when she doesn't understand something and she is willing to learn it. Memorization is a strength of hers etc etc. I really respect a lot of these women that people are quick to trash. The reality is if you can get a cotton candy book deal, something that's all fluff, its because you have a brand but are willing to WORK. Book tours are not glamorous at all. Sitting in dying Borders in Eastern PA from 9 to 1 and 2 to 7 and maybe even 8 to 10 isn't easy. |
| Patrick Dempsey stayed at the same hotel we did for a vacation. He was better looking in person. But looked super grumpy! |
| One or two other posters have mentioned this but Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are regulars at a few places in Nashville that hire college and grad students. Anyway, they’re both delightful. And they actually do seem really into each other (and their daughters are sweet). |
We sat next to The Office's "Roy" at The Greenbrier. He was sitting with 2 agent/manager types and they blew smoke up his ass for the entire dinner about how big a star he was, etc. Pitiful.
This summer, I rode in an elevator with Keifer Sutherland in a hotel. He was talking to his woman friend about a hotel worker who clearly loved his job, very complimentary. He was dressed very nicely, and shorter than me (I'm 5'8") He gave me a sweet smile in the lobby area. I think he's a good one. Saw Diana Ross at an fancy event a few years ago. As the lunch was breaking up and people were leaving, she was ranting & raving about something to her assistant, loudly. It was so awkward and I was embarrassed for her (and the assistant). Paul McCartney was at the same event and couldn't have been more gracious, including taking photos with fans, even though NOBODY was doing that in the room. |
| We ran into Joe Scarborough (Morning Joe) at a Red Sox game. He's a total charmer, and was very kind and generous with his time. He spoke with us for several minutes - longer than he really had to. And, I think he's very good looking! |
| Saw Jason Priestly and his family on a skiing trip. he was super overwhelmed with his rambunctious children and his wife was bossy. |
| I was on a flight with RBG about eight years ago. She was kind to everyone. Really, really kind. |
He is a sweetheart. We sat near him at a Bama/Ole Miss game in Oxford. He was so nice to us despite Ole Miss beating Bama in a totally surprise upset. Shep Smith is also super nice. And very good looking. He has a condo on the Square in Oxford and attends many home games. |

This isn’t first-person. One sc justice was extremely demanding to the airline once. Made everyone (already seated) wait on the tarmac for over an hour because they were late (and called customer service ranting)...I mean book another flight, right?
I don’t know which justice bc my Jet Blue friend wouldn’t tell me! It was before Scalia died. And coming to or from Orlando. |
| We have a family friend who saw Donald Trump at the hospital in Pittsburgh after the synagogue shooting and all she had to say was that he was more orange than you could ever believe in real life. |
| I waited on Fred Durst back around 2002, when he was at the height of his career. He was short, void of any personality and a terrible tipper. |
I just remembered, I met a couple of the guys from Korn a few years after that and they couldn't have been nicer. Just so respectful and humble. |
| Jack Hannah is a jerk! |
Hmm so rumors that he's kind of a jerk IRL could be true. Excellent that he looks even better in person!! |
