That would be shitty. But I don’t see why? It won’t help.

I suspect it is so those who complained about the Kingsbury move leave. I know of at least 14 kids leaving. And I know there are a many contemplating leaving because of perceived mismanagement from the Board. No one trusts the Board anymore, and administrators couch everything they say with “well once the Board makes the decision....”. It’s just painful to see how little parents trust the board and how the administrators don’t really trust them either. It’s mismanagement on all levels. If the teachers weren’t outstanding and my kids weren’t thriving I’d absolutely be out the door, no question.

For all current parents, please email the Board with this feedback/any requests for decision by a certain date. Then, if they ignore that, come back and complain. But at least do something first.

My question is when will they start moving down the waitlist? When I emailed admissions they said it would go all summer and possibly into September - is this true? My inbound school isn't great but it's ok for next year. Can I still re-enroll there or should I hold off until I hear from LAMB? Not even sure if I will hear from them though?

Definitely re-enroll in your in-bound school. It doesn't change anything about the LAMB WL, and that way you have it as a backup. We know a handful of people who got a call late in the summer (for PK4 and K) and accepted their offer from LAMB then. You don't lose anything by re-enrolling, so I would certainly recommend you do that.

I think t hat's true.

They will go to the wait list to fill spaces as they open up -- either if/when new families turn them down the spaces they've been offered or if/when current families informing them they are leaving.

Let’s see-

Major lawsuits, check
New principal
New executive director

I think it is also a great time to force a move across town so even more families peel off. Wouldn’t surprise me if you get a call.

That email is feedback at lambpcs dot org. Feel free to email if you’re a prospective parent as well. And copy the public school charter board.

No one can make an informed decision without some answers.

It's the same as in common lottery: you enroll where you currently have a spot. Then if you get a better offer, you enroll there/unenroll at the first school. Not a big deal. This is what I did last year.

How is this negligence?

+1. Also please don’t believe everything you read on DCUM. I suspect more than a few of these over the top responses are from people hoping to get in off the waitlists.

I’m a lamb parent and the only people who think the Board is doing a good job are on the board. They have mishandled everything. The chairperson of the Board is extremely lucky she wasn’t sued personally in one of the fernandez lawsuits since it is obvious to everyone she has very unclean hands.

And yet I do believe the board is turning over somewhat - lot of people have left and new members were brought on, most of whom are parents. Working closely with advice from Charter Board Partners. Opened a feedback line and do respond to inquiries.

This is untrue. The contract with Charter Board Partners expired and they have not renewed it.

I work with charter board partners on occasion and the consensus seems to be the LAMB Board is a joke. Just saying- don’t expect much.

So, here's the thing LAMB parents (of which I am one)......

If you think the LAMB Board is so bad, why didn't you apply for a spot when they were looking for more people?

I'm not particularly impressed with the Board. But I do recognize that they are ordinary humans trying to do their best in a very difficult role. One or two have been there too long and should probably move on. A few are parents, one had a child in Fernandez's class (unknown if that child was a victim). Similar to a few admins/teachers (i.e. Yombo), they certainly didn't suspect the abuse when it was going on or they wouldn't have let their kids be in his class.

They have done their best to be responsive to parent feedback. They have fired the individuals who were negligent.

IMO, they are giving governing LAMB during a difficult time their best shot (despite their day jobs) --- and it is a tough role to play. They may be a joke according to some of you, but they are all that we have right now. So, rather than sitting around taking cheap shots, why don't we work harder to improve the Board?

Thank you. It's so easy to just point fingers, isn't it?

I also take real issue with those saying Charter Board Partners thinks the board is a joke. Umm...how unprofessional can you be??! The whole purpose of this organization is to help and support Board growth and development, right? And instead you trash talk them on anonymous boards? Absolutely sickening.

I personally know many parents who applied for the board when they advertised the position. None of them were selected. I don’t think you can criticize most parents for being lazy or checked out. It’s a very involved parent community. And the concerns are legitimate.

I also know many people who applied and were rejected. Moving locations is a huge deal and not telling parents is really wrecking the community IMO.
