LAMB Public Lottery

And not yet knowing which buildings they will occupy next year means they can't know if they will be able to add anymore class rooms, as they have been able to do for the last few years. The lengthy process to get approval for the Kingsbury site means nothing is certain for next year yet.

Lamb will be in the same buildings next year- no move to Kingsbury. Assuming the neighbors don't prevail in their appeal, lamb will move to Kingsbury in 2019.

I think a lot is still up in the air. My understanding is SD campus is definitely closing next school year, Missouri Ave and Walter Reed will still be open, and there is still a chance some classrooms will move to Kingsbury in 2018. The school hasn't communicated anything official to current families yet about any of this, because the Kingsbury deal is still a work in progress.

If you're one of the top 25 on the PK3 list, you can assume you are in and will get an official message from the school eventually. But as others have said, so much will change between now and the start of the school year, I imagine dozens more will get in by the start of the school year. You just might not know until late summer. It'll be the people in the 40s/50s/60s that will be on edge until then. Good luck!

Your understanding is wrong. Ask any assistant principal.

Incorrect according to the administration.

Last year, siblings had already been accounted for and were on a separate list.

So if I applied for K and PK3, and my PK3 got in, is my K already moved to the top of the list?

That’s the way it worked last year. And it took another couple months for them to start admitting K siblings of pk3 kids.

Did any non-siblings get in at all, for K?

No one got a seat today for K (sibling or otherwise) according to WAMU's Austermuhle, who attended and tweeted about it. https://twitter.com/maustermuhle/status/974270748717142017

"So the drawing is done on a computer that's projected on to a big screen. For PK3, 644 applicants for 25 seats. For PK4, 364 applicants for 0 expected seats. For K, 234 applicants for 0 expected seats."

Yes but that’s current open seats- seats will open up over the rest of the spring and summer (not a lot but a few).

Yes I keep checking.

The school has apparently said it will be up by tomorrow.

Why do you think it takes so long? I mean, I know they have other things to do. LIke educate kids. But it seems like it should take no more than 20 minutes to type up the list and post it on the website.

Maybe they check through for errors? I agree that they should put it up as soon as possible.
