They will have no choice but to be this stupid if we don't work on fixing these options for ourselves and for them.

Do you think the women of generations before us set out to do this? No, I am sure the moms of 1970s and 1980s thought, by 2009, our daughters will have figured this out!

Hasn't happened yet. Look I don't want to sound like I'm shouting from the mountain tops and trying to start a revolution, I just wish we could first stop fighting each other, then work on advocating for better work life options (PT, flextime, telecommute etc.) or if not advocate, at least support each other more.

I am only 9 weeks preggers with #2 and I already gained 3 pounds, I keep eating and I feel fat and ugly.
I hate my co-worker, she thinks she is hot and she is not, she has big boobs and thats about i, she is a size 16 for god sake's. she is really competitive with me about everything, she might know more about the job than me because she has been there longer, but I am hotter and younger.

Sure you are, sweety. Even though you feel fat and ugly and you are an abnoxious freak who's affraid of cats and too insecure to admit you are jealous of your co-worker... You're still hotter and younger. Maybe rotten inside, but definitively hotter and younger.

you are right, I do feel like an abnoxious freak when I see a cat, it is something I have to deal with daily and it sucks, I have been to therapy and I still have this idiotic phobia.
I hate my co-worker because she is constantly trying to out-do me in everything, and what really got me not liking her anymore is when she said that my 20month old DS was short and he had pigeon toes and her 2.5 year old DD is and will be tall and skinny. She is always talking about how all these men stare at her and that everyone is jelous of her big boobs, she gets on my nerves, or maybe is just my hormones, I should just ignore her.

It's obnoxious, not abnoxcious ladies...

You bitches ruined a perfectly good thread with the SAHM vs WOHM debate. Goodness! For all that is holy could we stop discussing this shit. Carry on!

Why didnt we move to the close-by Bethesda suburbs??? I feel like a loser for not being more excited by being a cool urban mama.

Funny! We live in a 1.5M house in Chevy Chase, MD and have city envy. We were city dwellers before kids, but when kids came along, convinced ourselves we needed the yard, the larger space, the big basement playroom...

am I the only happy woman in this forum? I don't own a house, I don't own a car, I work full time, I go to school full time and I love the man that I have by my side. is it a confession anyway?

Agree 100%! This was a great thread when we focused on regular confessions (interesting), confessions re: Lesbian fantasies (very interesting). Please, no more mommy war sniping...and if you're serious about having homicidal fantasies--stop posting and get yourself to a therapist, STAT!

I wonder where the law enforcement institutions are when I read threads like this... Immigration, Homeland security... Are we alone here?

Interesting....But here's the thing: Cant you walk to school and playgrounds in CC MD? Because that's basically all we do. I mean, it's not like we are at the museums or window shopping every day with 2 little kids and their damn naps! So the walking we so highly valued is really just to the playground! We still have to drive to the grocery store!

I can't stand my husband's ex-wife. Get over the "everybody owes me something self pitying" act. Get up off your ass, do the dishes, clean the house, the laundry, and make something of yourself.

to SAHM and be uninteresting, bored, and growing stupider,

or to be WM and be money-hungry, unmaternal, and happy to have someone else raise her child.

What a great choice we are setting up for our daughters and future daughter-in-laws.

Great job ladies!

Except that as a SAHM, you can find ways to engage yourself, continue learning and gain new skills. It's harder if you're a WM to spend more time with your children.

when i was a SAHM, i was bored, couldn't make other mom friends for the life of me, stayed home a lot and watched tons of TV. it was depressing. sometimes when i feel guilty about being a WOHM, i remember those days. and then i realize daycare is so much more fun and stimulating.

I confess that I suspect at least some of the lesbian lust threads were written by men.
