Where do you think Malia Obama will enroll?

Looks like Brown v Yale.

I just know she seriously threw my DD's friend for a loop when she sat down in front of her to take the SAT.

I imagine that she got a near perfect score. Her parents are highly intelligent.

Probably wasn't too close to perfect or she would have scored highly enough on the PSAT to be a National Merit Semifinalist

No, sometimes there's very little correlation with PSAT and SAT. I'm sure after a bazillion years of private school, she would have a decent score

Decent, sure. Near perfect?

I'd be shocked if she got super high scores. Obama never released his scores and Michele has stated before that she didn't score that highly. I'm sure she did well but I'd be surprised if she scored in the top 5%.

Probably not. If she was so perfect, surely she'd be NMSF.

To follow up, from statistics in 2005.

"If we raise the top-scoring threshold to students scoring 750 or above on both the math and verbal SAT — a level equal to the mean score of students entering the nation's most selective colleges such as Harvard, Princeton, and CalTech — we find that in the entire country 244 blacks scored 750 or above on the math SAT and 363 black students scored 750 or above on the verbal portion of the test. Nationwide, 33,841 students scored at least 750 on the math test and 30,479 scored at least 750 on the verbal SAT. Therefore, black students made up 0.7 percent of the test takers who scored 750 or above on the math test and 1.2 percent of all test takers who scored 750 or above on the verbal section."

I'd imagine the number of AA students scoring above 750 on both is considerably smaller. I suppose it's possible that she's one of the 100 or so AA students that scored above a 1500.

Amazing statistics, but don't you think the numbers must be higher now -- ten years later?

Probably somewhere that would know not to title a post with a hanging preposition.

This issue is played out. We get it!! Move on.

Since SAT scores have been flat or trending down, and the gap between whites and blacks has been getting larger; no, I doubt the numbers are significantly different now.

Interesting, but it honestly has nothing to do with Malia. She will get into every school to which she applies. I just wonder if she will apply early to end all the speculation.

No doubt. Honestly, do kids of important politicians who are at least reasonably smart ever get rejected from college?
