WES Head of School resigns

Anonymous
Parents that deny that the mean teachers exist do not have empathy for the other parents/students in the school community. Sometimes they even imply that the child is at fault. They know that the parents sharing their bad experiences are credible. Maybe someday when they find themselves in a similar situation and no one at WES helps them, they will finally have some compassion. When a child is mistreated, the whole community suffers.

We have also experienced some very good WES teachers and a few very very mean WES teachers. It's a shame the school won't deal with the mean ones, but it is for certain they are aware of them. I think the division heads have been allowed too much input as far as protecting bad teachers. I know the same names have come up over and over, so it is very strange that nothing gets addressed. It must be disappointing for the solid WES teachers-they also don't deserve this.

WES should consider that the good teachers and staff are finding it difficult to work with the probematic teachers too. Many of the teachers/staff are afraid to speak up and risk losing their jobs, but it's only a matter of time before they seek employment elsewhere. WES hired a teacher that clearly has some issues (to put it nicely). If the new ones they bring in are bad, then I don't think there is much hope. Too many of the teachers play favorites in a very obvious manner.

+1,000,000. DCs still talk about their bad experiences there and the rampant favoritism.

The kids all talk about the teacher favorites - it's very obvious to them and it makes the kids extremely competitive with each other - toxic atmosphere.

It sounds like normal childhood nattering that unfortunately some parents buy into.

Hey, guess what all of our kids say about us on occasion? Not always the nicest things ("Mom and Dad favor Jonathan. They let him do whatever he wants!"). Not everything kids say is accurate -- quite a lot is not in the sense that it reflects how THEY are feeling much more accurately than objective reality.

LOL. You have no credibility when you "quote" a child using the word "favor." What a riot.

Well, my kids use language like that -- of course, they're a little older -- solidly in the "joyful" early teenage years. But aside from that, do you disagree that kids often misperceive situations because they are angry/upset/don't see the whole picture?

Several parents commented that on a parent visiting day they knew exactly who one teacher disliked -- it was so obvious -- well, it matched up with what the kids said. The teacher was extremely harsh to one child in particular for any little thing the child did...you know there is a problem when random parents notice!!

+1

And by the way, the posts in this thread started to deviate from the topic. How convenient for WES bashing! If you don't have more to say on the topic, start to badmouth WES in any way possible!

You think kids around here don't know the verb "favor"? LOL.

If we took a survey, you are damn tooting that most kids would say, "Mom and Dad like Jonathan better!" You are ridiculous.

Why don't you conduct a survey about WES? That would be interesting.

When we reported how our DC and classmates were being treated, nothing was done. Same old story.
