I bet women in those countries think circled is ugly because they don't see it a lot. I don't think we should use aesthetics a reason to circ.

And I think most of the people who say uncirced is ugly have never seen one IRL. When erect, they look THE SAME. I say this as someone who's DH is uncirc'd, but had a couple circ'd partners before him. I don't know about you, but I don't spend time with flaccid ones, so it's a nonissue.

As a nurse who has to look at them and sometimes clean them on coma/elderly, there is lint/crud and sometimes white cakey stuff in-between when opening. I have also seen an infected one and it is enough to want to get my child one. Luckily I had all girls so it was a non-issue.

Maybe if I lived in a country with all full helmets, cleaning this area would be the norm but it is not. Most people do not have them

Right. Because coma patients and bedridden elderly have such excellent hygiene outside of their genitals. Is this really your argument?

Circumcised or uncircumcised is irrelevant.
Boys get bullied for looking at another guys junk.

+1. Dear nurse, would you mind letting us know the top 10 body parts we should consider amputating in order to make cleaning easier?

Yes, absolutely.

Didn't the Frenchies invent it?!

Science will prevail not morons , vaccination and circumcision should be part of your child's birth plan.

Vaccinations yes, circumcision, no. It is a practices with no science behind it, moron.

I think you are not reading what AAP and all of the research has proven. We also spend millions on circumcision to prevent the spread of diseases in the developing world. Those two facts should be enough evidence to justify the procedure and the benefits to someone with a half a brain.

Hey it's tax season some of you taxes went to circumcising the developing world!!! Congrats on supporting it without knowing it!

It's always been the stance of the US to impose our opinions on what is "civil" on other parts of the world...particularly vulnerable countries. So your position holds no weight.

I am uncircumcised. As a teen in school I was made fun of and called names because of my foreskin. I was embarassed to shower because of it. I loved gym class but stopped taking it as soon as I could because of this. High school was even worse than middle school.I was called every name they could come up with. I hated my foreskin. Word even spread to the girls in my high school who called me their own names too. Education is important. I wash my body down there as regular as the rest of my body. I'm proud to have an intact , beautiful, squeeky clean natural penis. As an adult I have had women ask to see it out of curiosity several times. I showed them too! I must say they were fascinated and got an edication on the matter. They loved it and wanted to try tugging the foreskin. Lol...sorry to all of you bullies out there. Yours is boring!

So you resurrected an old thread to share the story of your adult happiness with being uncircumcised. And you apparently reveal to women that you are uncircumcised, and they therefore ask to see your penis.

Hasn't seemed to bother any ladies so far. They don't find it boring. But then again, while you are giggling gleefully at girls tugging on your foreskin we are getting some real action.

IF evolution/god/creator wanted us men to be circ'd, we would have been born that way. But we're now. All come out with foreskin, the way nature intended.

Don't listen to some story book, no matter how old it is.

The research also has proven 40 years ago that milk formula is way better than breast milk to newborns, and AAP recommended formula then. You know where that theory is going now. The foreskin survived evolution for a reason.

reading all these posts and wow. All I can say is after a lot of thought and research, we decided not to circ. We taught him how to clean himself (same you'd teach a girl), and he does it daily. He is now 7, and clean. its very easy. That said, since then, the research now leans more toward circ and if I had to do it again, I would definitely take that into account. At the time, there was less research about the health benefits and it seemed it was all about some historical puritanical practice/and fitting in. It didn't seem right to just go with the flow and cut my newborn boy, any more than it would be to cut a girl. But again, now with more info on public health benefits, that might convince me otherwise. At this point, I figure we just need to tell him he absolutely must wear a condom and explain to him how to take care of himself.

No, the boys may not be bullied either way, but apparently their mothers will be no matter what choice the parents made.
