Are Boys Bullied for being Uncircumcised?

Anonymous
First off, I'm a female, so no idea what goes on in male locker rooms, but I have a friend that seems to think her child would be bullied (I guess mostly HS) if he is circumcised. Do boys look at each others penises and tease? I find that odd, but then again I really have no experience. Anyone have any insight? BTW (she's in the Northeast suburbs of mostly affluent white people (she seems to think this is an important fact)). TIA

More likely to be mocked if his dick is small than if he's cut or not.

Mostly educated parents aren't doing it unless they're Jewish. So no, to your question.

I remember uncirced boys getting made fun of for their "potato sacks". I'm not sure it really matters in the scheme of things.

This isn't true at all. It's also insulting. For one thing, educated people understand the medical benefits of circumcision.

Not really bullied by the boys. Just less "action" from the girls. I know 2 men who got circ as adults b/c women were no go with it. You can argue all day about how great it is, but for some women, it is a "not happening, sorry!"

Educated - really. You are obviously the bully. Glad I am a Jew.

How ignorant. So sad boys can be that shallow. If that was the case, I'd look for a better enviornment for my kid.

Uncircumcised boys are much more common than when we were growing up, and that trend is likely to continue. Our kids will see plenty of both cut and uncut. Teens can make fun of anything, of course, but circumcision or not isn't likely to be something that makes a boy stand out.

What's your problem today? Nothing wrong with observing your faith, imo. Sorry if that offends you.

Again, much less likely to happen for our kids because it will be more common.

There was a lot offensive about your statement, pp. Not the least of which was the inference that Jews are uneducated. Shame on you. Stop trolling.

If anything, educated parents are more likely to circumcise. It's the dumb crunchy mama emos who would refuse.

If your disagreement with me is offensive, so be it. Your choice. I am not offended by differing opinions, but that's just me.

No, this will not happen, and neither will the no sex thing. In no situation can I imagine a couple getting all hot and heavy and naked, and then saying, "Oops, look at that. Never mind."

Guys do not spend that much time starting at each other's penises in the locker room, they just don't.

I don't really care how you feel about circumcision one way or the other, but I wish people could actually have a conversation about it without resulting to myths, stereotypes, and unfounded conjecture.
