Are Boys Bullied for being Uncircumcised?

Anonymous
OP, to answer your question. When I had to make this decision I asked DH to talk to my much younger brother who was born in E. Europe but grew up here. He said he never had any problem and was surprised that this was our concern. He has great social skills though, always had plenty of friends and active dating life (he's 23 fwiw)

If you think its just a little flap of skin, you need to do some research on the function of the foreskin.

Would you support removal of the labia to reduce risks of UTI in women? Guessing not. It seems ok to us because it is a cultural norm.

My husband is from the UK. He'd rather lose an arm.

Correct. Using data stated in the form of a percent of a percent does not clearly describe actual risk. Lots of the data is not very clear. Some is, but with minuscule differences. Some of the research is questionable -- one UTI study included preemies in the uncirced group. Preemies, as many know, have a significantly higher rate of UTI. Some studies were among parents who had been advised to retract their child's foreskin and clean underneath it -- not a valid recommendation. Many of the studies are retrospective, like the Ginsburg study, which has fairly significant flaws.

I wish I still had mine! But regenerating it seems like too much work.

Nipples provide pleasure. Just like the foreskin.

I don't care, and I've had my share. It just needs to be big with well groomed pubic hair.

A majority of men prefer tidy labia. So let's modify the labia of infant females. If we do it when they're just a few days old, it won't affect them.

That clearly went over your head. I don't care one way or the other. I like penises, cut or uncut--as long as the men are well groomed, clean, and not attached to a dick-head.

Good point.

We didn't think there was any reason to cut him at birth and our pediatrician agreed that there was no proof one way or the other about benefits. But I don't want my poor DS to be smelly and unwanted by women because of his penis! We never even thought about that. Those women on this board who have slept with uncirc'd men, please speak up and tell us the truth. Are the people saying that uncirc'd penises are dirty and smelly got anything going for them?

I have been with more than one man that were uncirc'd and did not encounter any worse smell or dirtiness then any circ'd man I've been with. Hygiene is key.

Yep. As guy friends say, don't do anything that might reduce the boy's chance of getting a BJ.

My DH is from the UK and I didn't realize he was uncut until after we were engaged and living together and I saw him flaccid in the shower one morning. Looks and feels (and smells) exactly the same when erect folks. As a woman, there was just no difference.

My husband and I are well-educated and did not circ our three sons who are 20, 16, and 13. None of our sons have been bullied or made fun of and we don't live in a liberal area. Two of our sons have always played sports and have spent a ton of time in locker rooms. I'd love to see some data that supports that only dumb, uneducated, crunchy people don't circ.

We could also prevent breast cancer if we removed infant girls' breast buds at birth.

The tonsils are an important part of your immune system.
Wisdom teeth would be pretty useful even a hundred years ago before modern dentistry.
Some men can lactate.
