If someone is a size 12, do you think they are fat?

I'm 5'9", 180lbs and a size 12- 10 if the pants in question are particularly widelegged. I carry all my weight in the bust and inside thigh. However, I can't buy button shirts or skinny jeans without going up to 16/18 and shelling out for tailoring. I'm fat, but put me in a wrap dress and you'd never know.

I don't think of someone as "fat" based on the size of their clothing, and with the wide variety of sizing among clothing brands, your clothing size really means nothing now. So no, OP, I wouldn't think someone is fat just because they wear a size 12. I only think of someone as "fat" based on what they look like, not on an arbitrary number.

Im extremely surprised by the differences in body types already mentioned here. I'm 5'6, I weigh 190, and I wear a size twelve because I have a butt. My waist is smaller in comparison with my butt and boobs. I wear a medium or a large shirt, depending on the brand. My boobs are a 36 c. That's the honest truth. I am very conscious of muffin tops, I don't ever want to wear something that makes me have one... So seeing that people on here weigh a LOT less than I do, but wear the same size, surprises me. Just thought I'd give an honest answer for people on here to go off of. At my absolute skinniest I weigh 165 and my parents and friends start worrying because they think I am not eating at all and am too skinny. At that weight I wear a ten, and mediums more often than larges.

Because the first PP is in denial (and BTW I'm a NP). I'm 5' 9" and just clocked in at 164 at my OB's office this morning... and I'm 37 weeks pregnant. And I'm not "skinny" even at my normal140.

People carry weight differently. At 5'8" and 160 my sister wears a 10 and looks skinny.

I am also 5'6" and currently 167 pounds and I am fat. I can't imagine who anyone would consider me skinny...unless their norm was morbid obesity.

No, I don't think a 12 is fat

In response to all of you insecure bitches who worry whether size 12 is fat and spend all of your time judging yourself and/or others, to quote Edna Turnblatt:
You can't stop my happiness
'Cause i like the way i am
And you just can't stop my knife and fork
When i see a christmas ham
So if you don't like the way i look
Well, i |ust don't give a damn!

You may think that she is in denial. It still doesn't answer the question about why you rudely laughed at her.
