The winter storm warning comes into place at 12:00. Not even the middle schools end before that.

Good point. A closing would be best. |
Oh please. That man hated being yelled at on Twitter. Do you not remember March 12, 2020? There was no plan for a Covid closure, then when people yelled at him online, they announced a closure at midnight for the next morning. It was ludicrous and I’m still salty about it. |
Falls Church City called early release for tomorrow |
I think that’s kind of dumb but they are a small area so maybe it makes sense. FCPS needs to cancel. |
The weather reports indicate that the snow won't stick until early evening, so I don't see why an early release would be a bad idea. I've worked in the county for a long time, and early closings used to happen more frequently. |
If loudoun can do a 3 hour early release so can FCPS |
LCPS just announced 3 hour early dismissal so prepare yourselves - that’s definitely what’ll happen in Fairfax |
So a school system where the teachers are required to go in person every day is who poster thinks doesn’t understand going to work in person? |
To have two free days home with the kids I would imagine. Isn't that rather obvious? |
Early dismissal tomorrow, off Wednesday… mark my words |
London and falls church have much smaller school systems and transportation systems. The logistics are different for a huge county/system. |
Prince William is a 2 hour early dismissal, Manassas as well… and of course Stafford canceled. |
No idea why FCPS is dragging their feet |
Because it's a tough decision. Storm warning isn't until 12 or 1 pm. Kids will probably be fine with a full day but there's a chance they won't be and it's super chaotic to have a surprise early dismissal. |
