Who is suffering? Why all this projecting? What if what he does, ya know, WORKS? Lowers the cost of living, among other good things. Then what? I guess I shouldn't worry, you're a dem, I'm sure you'll find something to scream about.

His policies don’t support this. Most people do not support Project 2025. It’s a radical dismantling of the federal government. Yes, I know you will say this is a good thing but it really won’t make life better for all. Having incompetent people leading the country makes us horribly weak.

You are correct. The last four years has certainly show us that.

Did it take you all four years to come up with that lie?

Those eligible for the program are in the country legally and don’t have a criminal record.

In addition, they have to be able to speak fluent English. A person in this program, unfairly detained, would be able to be released from custody pretty quick.

The immigrants here legally are the ones being targeted first. The regime knows who they are and where they live.

Protesting was a waste of time the first time around, and only gave him more ammunition.

I'm just keeping my head down for 4 years and worrying about my own family and trying not to get stressed over every awful thing does. Just hoping that it won't affect us too much. Sometimes I wonder if this is how German people felt when Hitler rose to power - just so tired of fighting him and his ilk that they basically put their heads down and hoped he was too busy hurting other people and they wouldn't be affected. The burnout is real.

Even the anti-Donald Trump graffiti on the streets of West Hollywood is scarce and halfhearted now. Eight years ago, California was the “resistance” state. It is a different mood that a visitor encounters in 2025: resignation, boredom with the subject, a we-had-it-coming attitude among thoughtful Democrats and, at times, something approaching curiosity about the economic potential of America under a deregulating president.

A great liberal shrug is going on. It has been happening around the world since Trump clinched his win in November, and it is natural. You can’t be angry all the time. In the autocracies of 20th-century Europe, people of dissenting conscience often made what was known as an “inner migration”. That is, rather than flee or fight, they withdrew into private life as the political realm darkened around them. To detach like this is clever, not weak.

Just don’t overdo it, that’s all. I sense that liberals have allowed a healthy acceptance of electoral reality to cross into a hope that Trump’s second term won’t be so bad. Please.

The great liberal shrug. That is where I am at. MAGA can burn the country down. The only thing I want is not to have my tax dollars help any red states. Other than that I do not really do care anymore. Oh if the Dems keep pushing moderates and talking about work across the aisle I will pass.

yep- im from MD, but a WI voter for a few more years. I have been calling and lobbying republcan officlas to propose and pass a bill that makes it illegal for any state to recieve more in federal funding (aside for military bases b/c im from MD) than they collect in federal tax revenue. I think all of us have to bear down and lobby our representatives to pass someting like this b/c that way at least our money will go to other wealthy, blue states that share our values and that we might move to in the future. with the economic growth in red states right now- it is quite possible that they might pass smething like this and educated states will always be wealthier than fundemental christian ones bar utah so My family and I will be rid of the albatross of Oklahoma and missisipi no matter where we choose to relocate.

So weird how the red states are constantly railing about big govt and a welfare state, but they ARE the welfare states.

Oh he's doing such awful things...like helping out forgotten Helene victims in Western NC. Putting them up in furnished apartments. So, so terrible!!!

sorry but no. We are going to just live our best lives and build community and enjoy ourselves and then go vote as we please in 2026 and 2028. if you look at the electoral breakdown its divided by class- people of a certain sec class voted for Harris, but they arent the ones threatened by trump. Im slightly annoyed b.c i want to move into DC proper in 20 years when we retire but property values are through the roof b/c of MAGA but i'll get over it. Lets just wait and see what happens- i can look down on orange florida people and admire wasp culture from my home.

Legally, like green card, or legally, like the bogus asylum claim?

That will teach immigrants to follow the rules!

Project 2025 was published and available, and people obviously voted in support of it, whether they realized it or believed the lies - doesn't matter.

Protesting did little or nothing last time, and trying to inform did little to nothing in this past election.

Time for people to experience what they voted for, a long with the rest of us.

Many voters did not realize much of anything. Some voters didn't know Biden had dropped out.

No, he's "visiting" them for photo ops, while behind their backs, he threatens to "revoke" FEMA -- the agency he needs to use to actually help them. - and leaving states on their own to handle disasters.

"In an interview with Fox News, the US president said of Fema that “all it does is complicate everything” and that even states who resoundingly backed him, such as Oklahoma, should be primarily left to deal with the aftermath of major storms, floods and fires....
...
...[quoting Trump] there would be “a whole big discussion very shortly, because I’d rather see the states take care of their own problems”."

You calling a law bogus, does not mean a person following the law is doing something illegal.

There are things that he is trying to do that shouldn't be controversial on both sides - like ending lowering drug prices. I think it's time to start speaking up and protesting again! Just silently rolling our eyes isn't helping.

Because even long time liberal democrats like me, now support Trump!

Liar.

Similar to men’s using the women’s restroom. Completely bogus but not illegal.

There’s a lot to correct for due to the last 4 years.
