Why aren't people protesting?

Who is suffering? Why all this projecting? What if what he does, ya know, WORKS? Lowers the cost of living, among other good things. Then what? I guess I shouldn't worry, you're a dem, I'm sure you'll find something to scream about.

Having to go to work is ruining your life? Please explain.

It's more expensive than WFH for me, the employee.

Gas, tolls, parking plus the 2-3 hours each day wasted in traffic.

If we ever go back to RTO 5 days a week, I'm sticking to strict 8-5 hours. I don't have a company issued cell, but I will be deleting all work apps from my phone like Outlook, Teams, and the VOIP app we use. If it doesn't get done while at work, it doesn't get done.

My company gets so much extra work out of me when I WFH that they will no longer get if I'm RTO 5 days a week.

This is another reason I am not protesting or saying much of anything this time. The base thinks this is actually going to work and Trump and billionaires are doing this to help the average middle class and poorer voter. Great, go for it folks.

See what you get, we aren't mostly going to try to stop it this time. You saw what happened from 2016-2020 and yet you want to be screwed over harder. Ok then, go for it.

I would love to be wrong about Trump and that his plans will be great for everyone but I’m not optimistic.

There are things that he is trying to do that shouldn't be controversial on both sides - like ending lowering drug prices. I think it's time to start speaking up and protesting again! Just silently rolling our eyes isn't helping.

While the other side is holding their annual March For Life. You know the life that is so important in womb but apparently not after birth.

I’m scared. Some of the words that are chosen, the phrases - I’m afraid I will be detained or persecuted yet I’ve done nothing wrong -

The best hope is that blue states and cities will defy Trump. We need to start breaking away from the corrupt oligarchy that he’s putting in place. There should be a movement in blue states to divert Federal tax payments to state and local jurisdictions.

His policies don’t support this. Most people do not support Project 2025. It’s a radical dismantling of the federal government. Yes, I know you will say this is a good thing but it really won’t make life better for all. Having incompetent people leading the country makes us horribly weak.

Well, ICE has already rounded up American citizens and a veteran, and those are just the ones we know about in Newark. In the first week.

We, those of us who grew with with racist af families, know it's going to be rough out there for anyone who is brown and "looks foreign" for the next four years.

If you are brown or look "international," be on alert folks.

You are correct. The last four years has certainly show us that.

These same-looking people increased their vote numbers for Trump this time around because "we need to acknowledge the post racial society to prevent black from taking our jobs and college slots". So oh well.

And I can guarantee you those American citizens have already been released.

Our military has a lot of people in uniform who are EARNING their citizenship by serving our country with valuable skills our military needs.

MAGA has no idea how anything works outside their little world.

Those eligible for the program are in the country legally and don’t have a criminal record.

In addition, they have to be able to speak fluent English. A person in this program, unfairly detained, would be able to be released from custody pretty quick.

Even the anti-Donald Trump graffiti on the streets of West Hollywood is scarce and halfhearted now. Eight years ago, California was the “resistance” state. It is a different mood that a visitor encounters in 2025: resignation, boredom with the subject, a we-had-it-coming attitude among thoughtful Democrats and, at times, something approaching curiosity about the economic potential of America under a deregulating president.

A great liberal shrug is going on. It has been happening around the world since Trump clinched his win in November, and it is natural. You can’t be angry all the time. In the autocracies of 20th-century Europe, people of dissenting conscience often made what was known as an “inner migration”. That is, rather than flee or fight, they withdrew into private life as the political realm darkened around them. To detach like this is clever, not weak.

Just don’t overdo it, that’s all. I sense that liberals have allowed a healthy acceptance of electoral reality to cross into a hope that Trump’s second term won’t be so bad. Please.

The great liberal shrug. That is where I am at. MAGA can burn the country down. The only thing I want is not to have my tax dollars help any red states. Other than that I do not really do care anymore. Oh if the Dems keep pushing moderates and talking about work across the aisle I will pass.

yep- im from MD, but a WI voter for a few more years. I have been calling and lobbying republcan officlas to propose and pass a bill that makes it illegal for any state to recieve more in federal funding (aside for military bases b/c im from MD) than they collect in federal tax revenue. I think all of us have to bear down and lobby our representatives to pass someting like this b/c that way at least our money will go to other wealthy, blue states that share our values and that we might move to in the future. with the economic growth in red states right now- it is quite possible that they might pass smething like this and educated states will always be wealthier than fundemental christian ones bar utah so My family and I will be rid of the albatross of Oklahoma and missisipi no matter where we choose to relocate.
