This is false. It was not banned. It was temporarily paused as new HHS P3CO guidelines were being developed and resumed once the new guidelines went into effect.

Where does the constitution say you can pardon someone who hasn’t even been convicted? Just because it’s been done before doesn’t mean it has withstood a court challenge.

Pardons are for leniency and a statement against what the executive thinks was an unfair trial or conviction. Not for protecting political allies from investigation or trial in the first place.
