Huh? Exactly how might they not be "constitutionally valid"?

Where does the constitution say you can pardon someone who hasn’t even been convicted? Just because it’s been done before doesn’t mean it has withstood a court challenge.

Pardons are for leniency and a statement against what the executive thinks was an unfair trial or conviction. Not for protecting political allies from investigation or trial in the first place.

See you in court.

That’s right. Wtf is Biden doing?

These three are three people who did their jobs faithfully - and some of them I don’t actually like - and know-nothings like some who commented above would be happy if these people were investigated again and again, especially if some of the nominees get into power.

I’m sure you would have argued against investigating Dr Daszak too declaring that it was just politically motivated know-nothings who suspected taxpayer dollars being put to work for gain of function research in Wuhan. Yet those suspicions turned out to be exactly right.

Should have just packaged it up as a 29th amendment and tweeted about it.

Because Trump is a self absorbed monster.

Them. Milley and the J6 committee too.

The J6 committee pardon provides Trump with all the political cover he needs to pardon all the J6 prisoners. I mean, he was going to do that anyway, but now Biden has created the impression that some criminal behavior may have occurred at the committee like burying evidence. Should probably be the subject of its own thread.

I don’t think Trump would have pardoned all of them (like the ones who shoved officers etc) but I think he will now.

Such drivel doesn’t belong in this debate. Either defend Biden’s actions or don’t but this anti Trump name calling isn’t an argument.

Pre-emptive pardons by Comrade Biden shows the cynicism of the swamp. Comrlrade Fauci, Comrade Miley, Comrade Johnson, Comrade Cheney and Comrade Hunter are happy today.

“The Constitution provides that the President "shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offences against the United States, except in cases of impeachment." [Footnote 6]
The power thus conferred is unlimited, with the exception stated. It extends to every offence known to the law, and may be exercised at any time after its commission, either before legal proceedings are taken or during their pendency or after conviction and judgment.”

Wow, the MAGAs really are angry about this.

Simple, he knows all are guitly and protecting them like the Overlord did by deleting hundreds of threads and tens of thousands of posts. In their mind this is to justice what the mRNA shots are to science.

The vast majority of dcum posters are incapable of contributing anything but name calling, rumors, and/or weird insults to the conversation.

When Trump leaves office I hope he pardons every single person he has ever worked with.

Not sure where you’re getting that from. It was a stupid move by Biden for several reasons and it’s going to come back to bite the Democrats one way or another.

We know that y’all are kind of slow, but why do you think that Biden would go to such an unusual measure?

Is it because Trump is completely deranged and hires only the worst? Of course trumps shortcoming are relevant. It’s the entire purpose of the thread.

Sorry but we all witnessed hours of footage of violent J6ers attacking police, smashing windows and rampaging. We've already had testimony and evidence presented showing that MAGA groups like Proud Boys and Oathkeepers planned it in advance and came prepared. There is absolutely NO "hidden evidence" that is somehow going to magically make all of that go away.

Also, if Trump goes ahead and pardons them that could give cover for future attacks on the Capitol. Imagine if in 2028 there's a close election and some group of Democrats storm the capitol. The Republicans won't have any legitimate gripe.
