I think some people assume a healthy person wearing a mask even today is experiencing undue anxiety and that is horrific, the thought of someone being permanently anxious about being unmasked when the pandemic has passed.

That being said we don’t know this girl’s medical history and we should never assume someone wearing a mask doesn’t have a valid reason to do so. You might think it’s anxiety but maybe they have a vulnerable family member or are immunocompromised. Don’t make assumptions about people you don’t know!

We never saw people masking pre-COVID irregardless of the same health theaters you're pointing out. There's no question masking enhanced and exaggerated quite a few people's phobia and fears. It was not healthy and the lasting damage is definitely real for some people. A segment of the population was terrified, extremely terrified by COVID and the COVID messaging. Some still have not recovered and never will.
