I knew that drug dealers were around, but also that people minding their own business were generally safe. Because of the crime policies we’ve since enacted, everyone has a target on their back in the neighborhood.

Went all the time in 2018. Didn’t have reason to in 2018 and then Covid. No chance I would go there now. It’s post-2020 when everything went to hell.

Are you the one person left (outside of council members) who doesn’t recognize the crime crisis in DC even as it drops throughout the country?

The violent crime in DC makes Oakland (2nd highest increase) look tame in comparison.
