Voting JLG out for a potted plant is a message worth sending. |
| She has been a fantastic AND 3/4G leader. I have no doubt she would make a good councilmember as well. |
| The reaction of many of JLG's hard-core supporters -- in essence, "how dare anyone challenge Queen JLG, especially a Black woman" -- is pretty gross. Competition is a good thing. Maybe JLG will finally start listening to her constituents now that she knows someone is challenging her personal domain. |
| I would just want to know more about her experience in 'law enforcement'. Whatever her experience and whatever she saw, what are her takeaways? What went right? What need to be fixed? We need people who will grab the bull by the horns. |
She had me at “crime is my #1 issue.” I don’t need to hear anything else. Writing her a big check. |
As long as she is on the pro enforcement and not the defundy side (now and historically)me too |
| Lisa sounds great! I have to say, though, that as a prior Ward 1 resident who was represented by Nadeau, JLG is not that bad. She seems to work hard and care about her job. I don't agree with all her ideas, but she supports ways to improve the neighborhood. Nadeau was horrible! |
| I'm still happy with Janeese and going to vote for her again. I think her positions and actions on crime have been far more insightful than the standard Bowser stooge who's just looking at what polls well. Brandon Todd never did anything meaningful and we don't need a repeat of him. |
| Brandon Todd might be the most ineffectual Councilmember ever to serve. |
There it is, folks. Please tell us how Janeese's actions on crime have been so "insightful." |
Please tell us how what Lisa Gore is promising is so insightful. |
JLG is actively making things worse. Replacing her with someone who promised to fck off to Pimlico and play the horses for the next four years and do nothing would be an improvement. Lisa Gore having crime as her top priority is light years better than JLG even if she accomplishes nothing. |
Same here. |
She sends detailed newsletters with specifics of the issues and what she's doing about it. Have you actually read those? DC, especially Ward 4 crime / safety is discussed in a lot of those (maybe all?). She's come to fairly contentious community meetings and given clear answers on what she can do and what she won't do. And she brings in MPD, USAO, and others as effectively as I think she can. But if you want to spout slogans and vote based off "public safety and crime tops my list of priorities" without any meat behind it then you've made up your mind based on emotion not logic. |
Comparing Janeese to Brandon Todd is a pretty low bar. It’s been pretty surprising to me to see Janeese basically move in lock step with Nadeau. |
