Ward 4 Election

Lisa Gore just announced her candidacy: https://www.gorefordc.com/

I don't know much about her, but I liked this part of her post: "Let me be blunt - public safety and crime tops my list of priorities. The escalating crime rates in our Ward and throughout DC are a cause for deep concern. With over two decades of experience in law enforcement, including supervising juvenile offenders, coordinating targeted enforcement operations, devising strategies to address local and national crime, as well as being a mom to a teenage son, I know that safety for all Ward 4 residents and visitors to DC, is essential for the progress and development of our neighborhoods."

She has my vote

(Ward 4 resident from back when Fenty was out councilmember)

Great. Janeese cares way too much about criminals to the detriment of the safety of our community. Ready to vote for someone who will advocate for holding people accountable.

Awesome. I will be voting for her. I'm betting she'll get a lot of support in our ward!

+1. Ward 4 resident and I like what she's saying. I voted for Janeese, but will not again because of her position and voting record on crime.

These aren’t policies or ideas, they are just fluff and talking points. For someone who says they have so much experience, she certainly doesn’t have a lot to say.
Also, if she had all the answers, you’d think she would have told someone about them before. But no, she’s just selfishly kept them to herself.
Read the tea leaves, folks. She doesn’t know any of the answers, is an Bowser pawn, and is playing off of your fear and anger.

+2 I'll do you one better - I had a sign in my yard for Janeese last election. Not getting my vote this time or ever again.

Janeese doesn't have the answers either, unless the question is "what's the most ridiculous position you can take on any given subject?"

I'll gladly vote for a "Bowser pawn" over soft-on-crime Janeese.

What politician has all the answers? Don’t be naive—that’s not a thing. Knowing that, I’d rather have someone who is going to try than someone who will continually make excuses for criminal behavior.

Voting out JLG for her constant criminal reacharounds would be the message the council needs.

So long as no one else enters the race to split the sizable anti-JLG vote, I like Gore's chances. Hopefully we won't have a replay with what has happened in Ward 1 over the years.

And a Gore victory would embolden a whole lot of others to challenge incumbents like Allen and Nadeau, or convince them that they're time has passed.

Ok, number one, don’t tell me how to act. Number two, you’re the naive one, friend.
