Queen Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee

This is a much better photo of Meghan's dress. I love it, especially the oversized collar, 3/4 sleeves, and gloves. The ivory is stunning.

Not at all. The Queen has never been a particularly doting mother/grandmother/great-grandmother, and we've rarely seen her cuddling or cooing over babies. And Great-Grandchild #11 is not special.

I think you'll gradually see the Queen fade from public events, except those that are particularly interesting to her (i.e., involve horses). However, I think she could live another 5 years in relatively good health. It seems to be mobility that she's struggling with. She seems mentally sharp and engaged.

True, I bet she loves her horses and dogs more. Her sister was involved in her daughter's education, the queen didn't care and never met any of the teachers or was involved in the children's education or care. I'm European (not from UK) and it's acceptable for us. Only in America we have to experience the motherhood martyrdom.

+1 I agree and thought she looked gorgeous!

How are her clothes so unflattering?

Why is there a nipple showing through that lump of a jacket?

That jacket is hideous. The belt cheapens it and it has a flap on the back that makes it look like a rain trenchcoat. Kate meanwhile is impeccable even in that yellow frock earlier, which I didn't love but the waist detail was pretty. And why was Meghan shushing the little ones yesterday? do they even know who she is? She's the random aunt that shows up at a family even that no one ever sees. What Harry must be thinking to now be demoted to a B-list royal. Couldn't even stand on the balcony yesterday.

Well, she is known for wearing terrible undergar and poorly tailored clothes.

Its really a stunning color....not quite white, note quite gray and not quite ivory.

But the gloves were just a step too far. It often feels like she is playing dress up or wearing costumes. She often looks fabulous....but almost always too fabulous for the occasion (eg that amazing green ensemble from a couple of years ago).

Whats that Coco Chanel quote - "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off." I just wish she took off the gloves!

It still doesn't fit her. She needs something that cinches her giant waist and this is not doing the job. She also needs better foundational garments.

It's a great dress, but it doesn't work on someone with such a boxy shape.

Way too much makeup, as always and ill fitted clothes with a sashaying walk.

You folks are awful on the clothes. Zara Tindall always looks like she’s uncomfortably stuffed into dress up clothes, but no one gets on her case. They both understand the assignment and show up in the right duds and silly hats. I don’t think any of you would do better. The only thing they need to do is show up and smile, and Meghan did that. The rest is conjecture.

Well, Zara is a true member of the family and is low key and doesn’t make everything about herself. She is a class act. And a world class equestrian.

I agree its not the right dress for her, or its not tailored properly, or both.

Neither has a waist. Kate is stick thin and uncomfortable to look at while Megan has no curve. I wonder how the Queen was able to keep her figure after having 4 children. She never seemed very sporty and wasn’t a smoker.

The Queen has a nice bosom, which her granddaughters-in-law lack.

all she does is ride horses - and that's not sporty?
