And yet it’s a country I knew I was gonna see so voted otherwise. |
You voted for a country where a business wouldn't be allowed to set its own rules about how it sells its products? Who did you vote for? |
Yes, one that recognizes the particular challenges low-income people face and don’t want to see their children die of starvation because they don’t have as many options as more affluent families. I guess in your vision for America, we would let the poor kids die. |
I don't want rich kids to die because their parents can afford things either. It's not either/or. If there is a limited supply of X, you don't let Y buy it all because they are poor. And prioritizing people who don't even belong here over our own citizens is pure garbage. I'm so sick of the virtue signaling of the wealthy elite |
Same PP 2 above asking if Nestlé could manufacture Abbott formula temporarily rather than Nido Fortificada. Nestlé Nido does make a toddler formula - Kinder 1+. Their products are shipped all over the world, just not so popular in the U.S. Someone should look to them and see what they can do. |
Rich kids are not going to die from this. |
|
People are hoarding and then selling at inflated prices. If you are rich enough, you can buy formula; if you aren't, oh well.
The folks at Abbott really enriched themselves and don't seem to care about their product. |
Middle class families are hurting. Low income families are hurting. We should be ensuring that the children of every American citizen has formula, if needed. |
And the particular measures pp (maybe you?) is complaining about at trying to address the particular burdens this places low-income families. Why do you have a problem with that? Middle class families have far more options for getting formula than low-income families. |
Not right now they don't. |
Yes, they do. If there are four can of formula on the shelf that aren’t a WIC-eligible brand, middle class families can still buy them. They can also go to stores and online retailers that don’t participate in WIC. A WIC participant who buys six can today rather than four but will only be able to buy 3 more cans for the entire month is not the problem here. But I get it, you view them as expendable. |
No. The point is that middle class families CANNOT FIND FORMULA. I cannot tell you of the number of stories I have heard from presumably middle class mothers who cannot find formula anywhere. It is a crisis that this WH has totally mismanaged, It is not like they weren't warned. Typical. |
“The WH has mismanaged”? You are a total POS. This is a serious situation and you are trying to exploit it for your own political manipulation. Sit TF down and leave these kids alone. |
If there is no formula to be had on the shelves for anyone, then how are these minor accommodations for WIC enrollees affecting anything? You can’t buy what’s not there. |
Of course they do. They can order off Amazon which doesn't take WIC. They can make four trips and get 16 cans of formula when the WIC recipient isn't ever going to get more than their allotment. They can buy brands that aren't allowed under WIC. |
