Sports General Discussion
| I’m still trying to figure out why anyone thinks it’s a basic human right to swim competitively. |
Well, you see, anything a transgender person wants is a basic human right that must be granted immediately. But if a woman wants something that conflicts with what a transgender person wants, then the woman is a bigot and should lose her job, home, and, ideally, her life too. Understand? |
Actually, it goes one step further. The woman is also expected to cheer on the transgender and then to congratulate "her" on a job well done when "she" is victorious. |

I guess “progressives” are going to tell us women speak in baritone, right:
https://swimswam.com/penns-lia-thomas-opens-up-on-journey-transition-to-womens-swimming/ Nothing to see here. Just a really large woman who looks and sounds like a man with long hair. |
You’re absolutely right and it’s such a disgusting state of affairs. If liberals continue to make a complete mockery of women’s sports like this then I will be enrolling my son in women’s sports. He’s built like a brick shithouse and already going through puberty at the age of 11. He has an arm on him and can run absurdly fast. With trans advocates pushing for men not to even have to take any hormones to compete against women, my son will be going to the olympics in softball and boxing. Why should he miss out on this grift? I’m not even kidding. |
| How tall is Lia? Based on a picture of the women’s UPenn swim team at the beach it looks like well over 6 feet. |
The behemoth is at least 6’4. By some accounts, the person is 6’5 and the person’s wingspan is more than a foot greater than that of the women the person beat. Fair, right? One has to wonder what kind of parents raise such a person so devoid of morals and decency. |

Picture of women’s swim team at beach. It just isn’t fair looking at Lia’s height and shoulder width.

Quite an unfortunate picture. She should have sat cross legged in front or something. Standing up like that, she looks like a hulking predator lurking behind unsuspecting women. I say this as someone sympathetic (though I think her races are a travesty and the NCAA is a disgrace for its sham rules). |
Yep. If the NCAA continues to allow this, the huge majority of women’s scholarships will go to trans women. My son correctly pointed out that not many Boys would seek to transition just to get a scholarship, but foreign-born boys, whose seek scholarships as access to a US education. Their parents may be on board. And honestly, it doesn’t take a huge number of Lias to change the landscape. Think women’s basketball. Three trans women would completely change the line up on any squad. Like the PP, I’m supportive of trans rights. But this is a situation where we are not expanding opportunities for all. You are taking from one group and giving to another. And the question is why is that justified? |
| I feel bad for Katie Lidecky, who’s college record in the 500 free is going to go down to Lia. Sic transit gloria Munro. |
Autocorrect: mundi. It’s a fallen world lol |

I guess it comes down to what is the purpose of sports and what is the purpose of sports for women? For some people, it’s exercise. For others it’s entertainment. For many, it’s female empowerment.
I will say that this same thing is happening in STEM opportunities geared towards women. The Girls Who Code organization has become trans-focused. That’s interesting re foreign-born possibly be more-willing to game then system. I don’t see any evidence of that, but if true, this has implications for women trying to break into STEM careers. |
If Lia Thomas transition from male to female AFTER male hormones had an effect on the body, then this is no different than a female athlete using steroids to get bigger/stronger (which would be illegal) but it is ok since Lia is trans. |

Remind me why competitive swimming even matters.
I too find this situation absurd but i dont understand why people are so up in arm about this. Why does it even matter? |
