The faux monogram and use of Duchess while disparaging the royal family combined with the entourage. It's all a bit much. |
This is an incredibly astute review of the show in the beginning, focusing on the dynamic with Mindy Kaling and the absolute vacuity of host and show.

Ok so I am by default a Meghan fan (mostly bc I hate the royal family) but this from a recent NYT profile:
When it’s just her and the kids for dinner, she said, she often relies on chicken nuggets, veggie burgers and Tater Tots (the freezer is stuffed with them).
Is she actually this clueless, or is it a misguided attempt to be relatable? Given her wealth and time, surely she can do better for her children than a freezer full of ultra-processed junk food.
DP. Does her DH travel a lot? For work or for play? I thought he was a homeboy (and unemployed). Does he dine separately?
What does the Duke do? Does anyone know?
He flies around the world on private jets paid for by his “charities” to play polo with his rich friends. When he’s not in London suing the government for not giving him perks that he walked away from. I suspect the investigation of Sentebale isn’t going to be a good look for him. Can we talk about Meghan linking clothes worn by the Wales children on her web site? I always thought she was just a little try hard and desperate, but that’s entering stalker territory. Maybe she’s just trying to make the Royal Family react? |

There are some clips online of the "Confessions of a Female Founder" podcast. Shockingly, Meghan manages to make every story of professional success relate to herself as if her work is comparable to thhe founders. Yes, selling 100 jars of watery jam is just like founding Bumble.
There's no shortage of ego with this woman. |
He hit the genetic lottery at birth and all this public, private, celebrity, commercial and non-profit interest including Netflix deal are perks of his family brand.
They *were* perks of his family brand. But he threw it all away. I actually feel a little bit bad for him, because I think he honestly didn't understand how much of his life was not normal for even wealthy people who are not working members of the British Royal Family. He'd never lived any other way. I think he didn't understand that he would lose his diplomatic status and constant police protection and what that really meant. I'm sure someone tried to explain it to him, but everyone who knows him says he's not bright, and I think that, combined with being busy pitching a fit and having zero experience with life in the real world, he just had no concept of what he was getting himself into, nor how much money it would take to sustain anything like his previous lifestyle. Paying your "expenses" is easy when you have a free apartment in a palace downtown London, access to a virtually unlimited number of country estates, free security, free transportation everywhere you go, and a household and office staff paid for by the Crown. On top of that, he *had* charities and others paying his way to attend events because he was a draw for other moneyed patrons. But he's not anymore. People wanted to be close to him because he brought proximity to the King, and now the opposite is true. Having Harry at your event risks permanently offending the King and the Prince of Wales. Rich Brits avoid him and Americans just don't care. So he was stuck sucking money out of his own charities, until their funding dried up for the same reasons. It is sad, but he has no one to blame but himself. |
I liked the first 5 minutes, and then she got so mean, and it was just word salad and fantasy about what she imagines Meghan’s life to be, without any real basis in reality. I had to turn it off - too annoying. |
How's the new podcast doing? Is anyone listening? |
Sorry you can’t keep up with someone smart 🤷♀️ |
I listened to a review of the one where she interviewed the founder of Bumble. It was mostly Meghan comparing her As Ever brand to the Bumble site. She went off on a tangent about packaging decisions for As Ever. Call me crazy but I think Bumble is a little more successful than As Ever. |
The level of delulu in that one is high. As noted before, she and “H” are self imploding… let them! |
She’s at it again, sending out notecards with her jelly and addressing herself as HRH…so gauche |
At first I thought she was just trolling the Royal family, but now I am beginning to believe she's got serious mental issues. All just recently -- She posts outfits for sale on her web site that are known because they were worn by the Wales children. Then, on the day Prince Louis' birthday portrait was unveiled, prominently showing his missing front teeth, Megan (apropos of nothing) announces at the Time Summit that she needs to go home because Prince Archie is about to lose a tooth.
Then she posts videos of herself "gardening" in Montecito in skinny jeans, a thick sweater jacket, and Wellies (coincidentally, right after Catherine got a ton of press coverage for pulling out her skinny jeans in Scotland). It is 70+ degrees in Southern California and you're picking oranges. Not to mention that no one in Southern California dresses like that even in the winter time. It's gone from "haha, funny" to "weird." I mean, if you're really trying to impress your enemies with how well you're doing in the California sunshine, you post a video of yourself in linen shorts and a tank top, not clothes made for surviving the cold English drizzle. (and obviously, posting the image of the jam with the card using the "HRH" was intended to get a rise out of the Royal family.) https://people.com/meghan-markle-posts-huge-haul-garden-11724700 https://www.vogue.com/article/kate-middleton-isle-of-mull-skinny-jeans |
The whole HRH and duchess thing really is over the top and inappropriate. I noticed that now if I try to search for Meghan markle in news, it autocorrects it to duchess Meghan, even if I put her actual name in quotes. She must have pushed hard legally to get that to happen.
She left that life then threw mud at it. She has absolutely no claim to duchess, Sussex, or hrh. And the kids shouldn’t be using the titles if they aren’t going to step foot in UK. |
My money is on William taking away their titles once he ascends to the throne. She is all but daring him to do so. |
