Yep. LWNJs really are one-of-a-kind in their sheer cognitive dissonance and constant gaslighting. "It's all good! You must be a racist to object to millions of illegal immigrants flowing over the border!"

You're a racist because the only immigrants you object to are brown.

And your entire way of life depends on cheap labor, so you might want to rethink your racism.

The only immigrants I object to are ILLEGAL immigrants. They could be purple, for all I care. But it sure is amusing watching you trot out your "racism!" card over and over.

DP...

A huge percentage of the people coming to the border are LEGALLY presenting themselves for asylum, which puts your "I object to illegal immigrants" argument into question.

And then you and the Republicans refuse to invest in the resources needed to actually process their asylum claims to determine whether they are legitimate or not.

And then you refuse to work on any solution toward making the many workers in restaurants, in construction, in hotels and elsewhere legal by making visas available to them.

So it's not really about "illegal"

How about instead of shrieking about "illegals" and doing nothing but accusing Democrats of being insane, you actually start actually thinking about some of these realities?

A huge percentage of the people coming to the border are FALSELY claiming asylum - you know this, I know this, we ALL know this. Instead of more resources for "processing," we only need to have a fleet of buses waiting, ready to return them to the countries they came from. Or at the very least, the FIRST safe country they came to, which was definitely not the US.

How about you and your fellow Democrats think about THAT reality, instead of demanding more money for useless processing - oh, and also demanding amnesty for the illegal immigrants *already* in the country?

Because that’s not the way the law works, genius.

That’s why the Democrats wanted to up the numbers of people to process them and send home all the people who are not truly asylum seekers, but the GOP doesn’t want to stop the flow of cheap workers who undercut American workers and they for sure don’t want bigots like you to have a reason to stop whining. They’ve got you right where they want you and boy are you happy to be there.

Interesting take, especially the way you've completely excluded Democrats from any culpability in this mess - which is ENTIRELY Biden's fault.

No, it's not ENTIRELY Biden's fault. We've been through all that a hundred times over in this thread. Do the Dems and Biden have some cupability? Absolutely. BUT... It's also the fault of the GOP for not helping deal with processing whether they are legitimate asylum seekers or not, it's also the fault of the GOP for not helping with port inspections which is the real way that most of the fentanyl is coming in, it is the fault of the GOP for basically taking a bad situation and broken immigration and asylum laws and making them even worse by not letting the Dems do anything either.

DP. It really is simple. Tell the people that their processing is going to be long and hellish and PROVE IT - then, they gradually stop coming. No other solution works. If they have apps, can wait in comfort, and be released into the country asap - they will keep coming.
They know gullible Americans will let them through.

There is a LOT Of money for the migrants and hotels here in the USA. Where I live (beach area), foreign nationals bought run down hotels, did not renovate them and are getting a HUGE amount per migrant family to keep them in sub-standard conditions. The migrants are paid a stipend per month by government (your tax dollars) that surpasses many peoples’ SS checks and welfare checks.

Two problems here.
One, once they are inside, they can’t be left to starve and out on the streets. Second, the US doesn’t have the predominant Protestant ethic anymore. It’s full of opportunists who will abuse the government help (not the “asylum seekers” but those hotel owners and such.

Um, I would say the opportunists who are willing to abuse the government's help are those coming here under false "asylum" claims. Why should the US be required to let them in at all? No other country on earth is expected to let masses of non-citizens into their countries.

Yes but they don’t make much. It’s the owners of decrepit hotels who take the cream of the crop

I'd like to understand -- what policy should we have for immigration to stem the problem? Really, let's say we have a dictator -- what would you want to the law to be and how would you want it enforced? Most importantly, how would you clean up the mess we are already in, and obviously do it without terrifying legal citizens or bankrupting the country. I would love to know what the solution should be, even if it will never happen.

It’s not their baby most likely
It’s a baby one has to have with them to not be put in detention

BREAKING: In Senate hearing, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas confirms over 600,000 known gotaways at the border in fiscal year 2023 while being questioned by
@RogerMarshallMD
. Mayorkas also repeatedly refused to answer Marshall's questions asking how many illegal immigrants have ties to known terror groups, saying only that DHS takes "appropriate enforcement action" to any national security threats. Marshall also asked when and if DHS would provide the countries of origin of people arrested at the border on the FBI terror watchlist - Mayorkas responded that that data could be provided in an "appropriate setting" (non public).

Well, of course. No way would they announce this information to the *public*! The Biden administration should be deeply ashamed.

They don't answer any questions they can't spin and lately, they don't even believe their spin.

The largest migrant caravan in a year, estimated to include some 7,000 people, is heading toward the US — and its leader claims President Biden has “dropped the ball” on immigration and allowed Latin American countries to “gang up” on his administration.

This latest caravan, comprising migrants from Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and Venezuela, left southern Mexico on Monday, bound for the US border.

Officials in the Mexican state of Chiapas said some 3,500 people set off on foot from the city of Tapachula near the Guatemalan border — but one of the caravan’s organizers, Irineo Mujica, claimed there were around 5,000 in the initial group, and that that number had since swelled to more than 7,000.

-----------

Here is the organizer. Even he admits Joe Biden has "lost the ball." He says he's never seen it worse and that he is stunned that Biden is allowing this to happen. Listen to the whole interview.

So you're denying there is indeed a massive caravan heading to the border right now? You're seriously going to gaslight this away? Of course you are!

It's quite amazing that these people are *demanding* to be let in. Why didn't Mexico stop them? Why aren't they required to apply for "asylum" in Mexico, or the first country they come to?

This is insane.

Mexico didn't stop them because Biden, et al, are doing nothing to force Mexico to take action to prevent the masses of people from moving through their country. In short - Mexico allows it.

The wire is obviously pulled aside. You are willfully blind.

$5 Billion

NEW:
@AP obtained a letter sent to President Biden by the mayors of sanctuary cities LA, NYC, Chicago & Denver - requesting $5 billion instead of $1.4 billion to help w/ migrant crisis because “our city budgets & local taxpayers bear the brunt” of the crisis.

They apparently want taxpayers from around the country to foot the bill for their sanctuary policies.
