A lot of individual talent which is good.

They are struggling and from what I have heard Clyde is getting rid of this team next year. I think he realizes he does better with the middle of the ECNL age groups. He really doesn't want to deal with the younger ages where they really need a lot of development. I heard next year he takes 2007 and 2006. Nadir/Brent are taking older 2 ages. They are bringing in someone new for 2009 and 2008. Might be a coach from the boys side.

Interesting because I heard Clyde likes the younger age groups and prefers to turn over middle/older to Nadir/Brent.

Mclean is as good as about 7 other area teams. Not good enough to make them the destination club that they used to be. Are kids trying to get to Mclean from Arlington or Loudoun or SYC or Vienna? I don’t think that’s happening anymore. There are lots of options and Mclean doesn’t stand out.

you think Clyde really wants to teach passing technique, receiving, and foot skills to U12 players

VDA is the only team that really stands out in NOVA right now. good luck making your way onto that team though.

For the other 99.9% of the teams in the area, the coaches have to actually develop their players.

Coaches do not develop players after u13. They develop teams and replace players to make the team stronger. Just go watch the practices. There is very little skill development after u12.

This is incorrect. In most cases such as PW$I and V$A they do not develop players after U9. It is up to the parents to decide if they will pay the coaches for training on the side. Most parents at these clubs are spending $200 to $50O a month to keep there DS and DD on the top teams.

Parents pay an extra $200 - $500 per month? That's a joke right?

Private training, weight training - outside of the club - not mandatory

This is a troll job. Players have access to additional training outside the club. Extra training is not mandatory at PWSI. That’s pretty common in Loudoun and Fairfax but dies not happen in PW. Sounds like some bitter parents whose DD’s didn’t make VDA 08 coming out of PWSI.

Yep McLean/SYC will have a strong team going forward. Look for the remaining CCL clubs to find a ECNL/GA partner pretty quickly.

Planning on moving to Bethesda. Have an older 06 and have played against them many times. The coach seems very good from outside looking in despite what people may say. Also looking at FCV though. Which ever coach and kids my youngest likes will be the final decision. Oh, and we are leaving one of the above.

Anywhere with a verbally abusive coach to whip my DD into a national team player. We are looking at several clubs on the list.

Have you seen nvsc's record in this age group in ccl lately?
