+1 Our high vaccination rate will keep severe cases down. APS won’t go virtual because it’s against the law but there will likely be many kids quarantined. Which is maybe worse than concurrent... |
The good news is if you're vaccinated you don't have to quarantine (this is per the update APS site). Last night, wtop reported that EUA for Pfizer 5-11 yr old will be approved in the next few WEEKS! Things are going to be better than expected for many. |
SERIOUSLY!?!?!?! I heard it was pushing to winter so (if true) this is the best news I've heard in a LONG time. And yay on quarantines. And hopefully non-covid sniffles won't keep kids out for a whole week this year. |
Still won't be ready until late Nov. at the earliest. |
Here's the article - and to the Debbie Downer PP, November is a great target. Most kids would be fully vax by the winter holidays. https://wtop.com/virginia/2021/08/va-vaccine-chief-approval-of-vaccines-for-kids-5-11-likely-in-a-few-weeks/ |
Lots of parents will be taking a cautious, wait and see approach—wait and see what side effects happen to other people’s kids before they let their own kids get vaccinated. The timetable remains midwinter. Sorry. |
Eh, I’m going to take seeing what happens when my kids get vaccinated over: for funsies let’s see what happens when my kid gets Covid. |
?? Everyone we know is jumping at the bit to get <12 vaccinated. We will sign up the first date it’s available. |
Duran: we are 5-days in-person unless forced to close by governor.
|
Yeah, literally the first day 12-16 year olds could get it I felt like every kid in Arlington was at the vaccination site with us |
you do you. |
Dr. Gottlieb is … concerned. |
Yes!!!! |
"You doing you" is taking down a lot of other people right now. And that's not caution: that's selfishness pushed to the point of recklessness. |
Well, seeing how the vaccination isn’t even available now for < 12 I call, FALSE. |
