Bill and Melinda Gates Announce Divorce After 27 Years

One thing I've always admired about Gates is that he doesn't seem to address or respond to criticism in any way. He just does his thing. More should live like that.

FWIW there is some online speculation that Bill Gates is caught up in the Epstein stuff

This. She probably wants to see the guy she's married to occasionally.

Whoa. She's been a tech commentator for decades at this point.

Yeah. And she's spilled lots of tea about Epstein things. She's been tweeting all day about Gates and Epstein. It's so disgusting to contemplate, and I don't know how seriously to take her. But, I take her at least somewhat seriously.

They are both planning to keep working together at the foundation. That is what I read in their statement.

I think this is insane, Bill Gates is just a magnet for conspiracy theorists. He's been in the public eye for like, what, 30, 40 years? He is who he seems to be, an awkward nerd who struck gold, got obscenely rich, and was then a rich awkward nerd who still found fulfillment in doing nerdy work and so has never really stopped.

No...it's based in Seattle.

PP probably heard it’s in Washington and assumed it’s DC.

Google says...

“The foundation’s Washington, D.C., office is located in downtown D.C. Our staff there represent teams from nearly every division of the foundation and work with governments, nongovernmental organizations, universities, and the philanthropic sector to advance the foundation’s goals.”

Offices vs Headquarters people.

There are offices everywhere. Only Amazon is bringing HQ2 here.

Yeah! And he's certainly done a lot of good things. But it's not a conspiracy that he and Epstein were involved somehow. The nature of that involvement - I mean, I don't know what it is.

There is a reason Epstein died in his jail cell. This sh*t is unbelievably sick. I can excuse one photo. Anyone can be set up by the wrong person. Multiple affairs?

No bueno.

I’ve never heard a good explanation for why Bill chose to spend so much time with Epstein. He even did so after Epstein’s conviction.

My take is a lot of middle aged white women HAPPY for her that they are divorcing.

Yes. The young kids on reddit are upset.

He will spend more time with his elderly ex.

She will have a boyfriend. If she’s smart, she won’t remarry.

Curious how the kids will turn out. The younger daughter is attractive.

You know, plain and ugly women turn out well and have good lives too. Every day, in fact.

?

Two of the kids look like Dad. The third doesn’t. She’s attractive. I’m curious how all 3 turn out. They’ve been raised with everything. But their parents seem to be unusual. Dad vacationed each year with his ex? Dad met with Epstein multiple times. Mom went on numerous talk shows quietly complaining about not getting enough attention from her husband.

I’m wondering if he’s asexual or gay.

When once sentence follows another and those are the only two sentences in the paragraph, people usually assume the sentences are related. But did you intend for "curious how the kids will turn out" and "the younger daughter is attractive" are are unrelated statements?

Also our society puts so much emphasis on looks and it's really obnoxious. Who cares how attractive they are as individuals? Why bring it up?

That whole post reads like it was written by someone multitasking on the can.

I'm 36 and was sad, not sure I could categorize it as something as intense as happy or upset though
