Yes, but was it hereditary before this. Why were even U.K. reporters insisting the title would go to Prince Edward? He can have normal emotional reactions, but he should behave better, at least publicly. He's a grown up, not a toddler without emotional control. Leaking to the press about cutting off a reporter who is closer to his brother is just stupid. It's like middle school. Especially when he didn't cut off anyone who was unfair or racist toward Meghan. |

That title was supposed to go to Edward - wtf are they doing.
The Titles of HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh The Duke of Edinburgh was granted the style and title of Royal Highness on 19 November 1947; on the next day, 20 November, he was created Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth and Baron Greenwich, of Greenwich in the County of London. These peerages are hereditary and on the death of His Royal Highness have passed to his eldest son, HRH The Prince of Wales. In the event of the Prince of Wales or any subsequent holder of these titles succeeding to the Crown, these titles and all others held will merge with the Crown. His Royal Highness was made a Prince of the United Kingdom by Letters Patent of the present Queen dated 22 February 1957. A declaration of the same date communicated Her Majesty’s will and pleasure that her husband be known as His Royal Highness The Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh. His Royal Highness’s style and titles will be declared at his funeral by Garter Principal King of Arms, in accordance with custom. https://www.college-of-arms.gov.uk/news-grants/news/item/187-hrh-the-duke-of-edinburgh |
So many idiots on Twitter. Ignore Ignore Ignore. |
No, it clearly states that it was to go to Charles, the oldest son and Prince of Wales. |
That is what they put up today. It is not what the royal circus has been saying for the last 3 decades. |
Well, he did have friends and family members who were Nazis before the War. My guess is that he was the type who didn't mind the Nazis in the 1930s so long as they were only killing/repressing people in Germany and central Europe. There were lots of British and Americans in that group -- so long as the Nazis stayed in Central Europe, there were many people that would have been basically okay with that. Invading France and bombing London was a different story. |
Well Harry has acted like the entitled brat, Meghan is the absolute worst but on the upside I don't see their marriage lasting, and I think she had more reasons to move back to the U.S. Probably thinking about child custody laws etc. That Oprah interview didn't make them look good or their marriage. |
That is a long marriage, good for them. |

Harry and George both attend the funeral. Duty above all, even for little George. He's old enough to understand death and his position.
No Meghan. Or anyone post-partum. Televised procession (no crowds) of military escort to Windsor Castle. Televised mass from St George's @ Windsor. Private family-only burial. I think they completely skip any activities at Westminster Abbey. |
Philip has 4 other grandchildren that would go. |
That’s a good way of putting it. Did he do his best with what he had to work with. My guess is that he did. RIP |

Right - Beatrice, Eugenie, Zara, and Peter. Eugenie and Zara just gave birth, so the question is...will they go? |
Only Charle's children/grandchildren because of succession. |
