Matched at LAMB SD
Mundo Verde Cook #19
SWS #27

Seems like we have a decent shot at MV, probably not at SWS. We live in H St NE area but are willing to move if we love LAMB (we know it’s closing SD and moving everyone to Kingsbury).

Should we take MV if we get in, or stay at LAMB? I ranked MV higher mostly bc of commute, but we are willing to move (our house is small and we were going to move eventually anyway). I think Montessori might be a good fit for my shy, focused kid but it’s not a priority (Spanish was the priority).

I don’t know how things will shake out this year but last year at MV, the waitlist only made it to #4 by the time school started.

?? Per the lottery data page, they made 26 offers by August for pk3?

Making 26 offers is not the same as getting to the kid who had #26 on the original waitlist. Every older sibling who accepts and has a PreK3 sibling, that sibling will move to the top of the list. Your could start at #19 and end up at #10 even if they make 26 offers.

So this happened 22 times? Ok well regardless, would appreciate it if people would indulge me and weigh in on the choice.

Deal #43
SWW #13
Hardy#36
Matched with Woolridge middle which we are not accepting since I accidentally put this school on my list. I thought it was a different school I had in mind.

I thought everyone was moving out of dc so why would the waitlists move so slow?

WL #3 or below for Lafayette, Janney, Shepherd, Hearst, Murch.

Was not expecting this - currently at a charter.

Is this because there are many spots in upper grades?

I’d take Eaton.

There's hope if you're IB, for sure! Especially if it's PK4.

Prek 3 and it isn't a low # . I thought all ib kids got in. Guess we are thr first group that may not be the case.

Can someone point to the info for this year about admission statistics (eg sibling, other preferences etc). Is it out yet or when is it normally released.

Well, you haven't not gotten in yet. This list tends to move. If it's mid-August and your number is still bad then you can stress.

PK3

1. Stokes Brookland (FR) - #44
2. LAMB-K - #125
3. YY - #99
4. Stokes Brookland (SP) - #62
5. Lee - Brookland - #40
6. MV-CO - #65
7. Inspired - #29
8. CMI - #12
9. Barnard (IB) - MATCHED

I would think the only other school we have a shot at is CMI. Would love to hear otherwise! We also received a significant scholarship to a private school WOTP, but it’s tough to beat a free investment in our community.

Barnard is better than CMI in my opinion.

I think you’ll get SWW.
