Is a waitlist number of 38, 35, 26 considered decent? Is there a realistic chance of getting off the waitlist with one of these numbers?

You will get Key and Hyde if this is for K

It’s actually for PK-4. Any chance with those numbers?

No way for prek4 unless one is your inbound. Most on those waitlists will go to inbounds.

People that do this are funny. I hope you are already someplace you like.

11 justifiable acts still leaves you outside looking in. Commit.

You are thinking too narrowly. You can also eliminate current/returning students as well. Why limit your murderous rampage to just those in the lottery queue?

This isn’t funny given the current climate with school shootings

I disagree. I think you are uptight.

We got matched with Raymond Elementary school at Petworth for Pre-K3. Does anyone have experience with that school? I would appreciate any advice. Many thanks!

3 Capitol Hill Montessori Match (enrollment pending)

Currently at Two Rivers Young -- HELP don't know what to do, I don't know anything about Cap Hill Montessori. Going to 4th-grade High achieving kid, late Oct birthday so he's usually the oldest in class.

Why are you trying to leave TRY? For CHML I would not make the trade.

Honestly not happy with TR approach to high learners, my experience has been that they are not investing in supporting students that are above grade level.

I don't mean this to come off as insensitive, but are you sure the school agrees your kid is a high achiever. We (and other friends whose kids test very well) have had excellent experiences with TR investing in and keeping those kids challenged.

PK3
Matched at LAMB SD
Mundo Verde Cook #19
SWS #27

Seems like we have a decent shot at MV, probably not at SWS. We live in H St NE area but are willing to move if we love LAMB (we know it’s closing SD and moving everyone to Kingsbury).

Should we take MV if we get in, or stay at LAMB? I ranked MV higher mostly bc of commute, but we are willing to move (our house is small and we were going to move eventually anyway). I think Montessori might be a good fit for my shy, focused kid but it’s not a priority (Spanish was the priority).

I don’t know how things will shake out this year but last year at MV, the waitlist only made it to #4 by the time school started.

?? Per the lottery data page, they made 26 offers by August for pk3?

Take it. A few years ago, we were #1 for 4th grade at several WOTP schools, and the waitlists didn't move!

These numbers are WAY better than last year’s, but this system is so foreign to me. Any help managing my expectations would be much appreciated.

Where do you live? This list is all over the place in terms of commute.

Making 26 offers is not the same as getting to the kid who had #26 on the original waitlist. Every older sibling who accepts and has a PreK3 sibling, that sibling will move to the top of the list. Your could start at #19 and end up at #10 even if they make 26 offers.

Uptight?! I’ll see your upright and raise you this: you are unhinged
